May now be aging and if so Mayweather will have an easy time of it Or because Diaz and Mayweathers styles are so different that Marquez will look better rather then when he was against the ropes being mauled but i do have to say it provided a great insight in to just how intelligent a fighter Marquez is in the first 3 rounds he was getting caught with that left hook over and over yet made the adjustment to take away the punch then saw Diaz was a sucker for the uppercut and finished him with it.
I think JMM is really small for a lightweight and will struggle to take power-shots from any legitimate puncher at, or above, 135. The Diaz fight did show how intelligent he is though - he can make adjustments to his opponents style and figure out how to beat them. This is a skill that not many fighters have - unfortunately for JMM, Floyd is also one of those fighters.

I have bad grammer but anyway Marquezs power has seemed to increase as hes moved up the weights is that because 135 is his natural weight?
I think that Diaz's style presented problems early to Marquez just like Pacquiao did in their first fight. He seemed to catch Marquez a bit cold, regardless if Marquez expected to be rushed or not. Marquez normally starts off slow and gradually adjusts after reading his opponent. Both Marquez and Mayweather aren't aggressors and tend to counter. Depending on how sharp Mayweather is on fight night, this may be a lot closer than people think.
Marquez seems to have become more agressive in recent years which could play in to Floyds hands,Marquez does get rocked and hurt alot as well while his chin isnt glass by any stretch Floyd is such an accurate puncher that he can ko him.
I think most of you guys are clowns that dont have a clue...... ......the determination by JMM and team to stand their ground against Diaz was made prefight analyzing all the conditions, like they were fighting in Diaz' hometown in a phone booth of a small ring.....for those of you to tuned out that you need commentators to point out the conditions that are obvious..... Those were the conditions that JMM was under....and oh my god he got hit a few times by a very skilled infighter on the inside and within the confines of a very small ring built for the homefighter..... .....oh I see :think Juan Diaz is a slow as mollases C level fighter the likes of which JMM has no business getting hit against! Clowns!
It indicates that that Marquez shouldn't be fighting any higher than 135 and that he's getting old. It was a good win, but Marquez was even struggling with Casamayor before that fight if I remember correctly. Floyd is gonna win, and easily.
I believe Juan diaz could present problems to any fighter, that volume and speed combination its lethal, in my opinion marquez has aged, but not that much
Floyd doesn't KO his opponents nowadays. He seemed to have lost his power when he moved up in weight. Hatton was finished not by Floyd biggest punches but by the ring post! I am picking JMM to win by decision.
Maybe it just indicates that Diaz was considered by many the 2nd best lightweight in the world. Marquez struggled a little bit, but he struggled against really good fighters at smaller weight divisions, it's hard to beat top fighters without taking a few hits. Marquez is a great fighter, still near his prime, and Mayweather will have his hands full.
I don't know how many of you have a long history with boxing ... But Juan Marquez is no joke. I've read many dismissing Marquez like he's some scrub off the streets. But Marquez is one of the very best fighter's out there today and it would be the most serious of mistakes for anyone to take him lightly -- including Floyd. I don't give a sh*t about JMM moving up in weight ... he is at all times a very dangerous fighter and the match-up with Floyd will be a classic one.
Marquez although he lost to Manny he won more rounds. Marquez has demonstrated more power lately; he destroyed Casamayor who had never been knocked down, and he destroyed Diaz. I think that he has a good chance to pull off an upset. Floyd has been out of the loop for a while and may be rusty. Marquez know how to nullify power and speed. I personally expect a draw.
