Bill what is "obvious" to you is often obviously not true. You don't outbox peak Sugar Ray Leonard purely by being a couple of inches taller and having longer arms than him. Could Paul Williams outbox him at welterweight? Don't be so silly. The reason Hearns was outboxing him is that Hearns was a fantastic offensive boxer with superb technical skills, an awesome arsenal of punches, an excellent jab and clever movement. Leonard was far too good to be outboxed by mere size. As an SRL fan, you really should know better than to make dumb statements like that.

I can see the sheer art when Mayweather is in the ring - against a weight-drained Corrales and Arturo ****ing Gatti. That is NOT the same as producing it against Wilfred Benitez, Ray Leonard, Roberto Duran and Pipino Cuevas. I don't understand why you, as a boxing fan, don't understand that simple fact.

Punch accuracy? :-( Try again. Hearns was one of the most accurate punchers in history. Mayweather used Gatti as a pinata, and hit Hatton's statue-head all night. Not the most difficult tasks in boxing. He didn't land much cleanly on a past-prime Oscar until Oscar tired down the stretch, and even then he never really landed any sustained clean combinations that hurt or backed up Oscar too much. Floyd is superb, but he's not the genius you think he is. He is not Ray Leonard, not by a long shot.

are you kidding? comparing Mayweather who hasn't fought anyone to Hearns who fought Cueves and Benitez and Leonard (2 times) and Hagler and Barkley and Hill and Duran?

Hearns would have been undefeated with Floyd's competition. I am not sure why this comparison was made. Hearns is far ahead of Floyd. He took on challenges and had the great names on his resume.

you have to take on the top guys to prove how good you are. Floyd never has taken on Margarito or Mosley or Cotto when they were winning. He might find a way to fight Margarito and Cotto after they lose or are diminished as fighters, but when they are on top he will not fight them. Floyd does not deserve to be mentioned with other greats. He just does not have the resume.

Pretty boy Floyd needs a few more fights before he is spoken about in the same sentence as the Hitman.

I don't even think a few fights does it. Floyd is way behind.

Anyone who discusses greatness and ranking and does not take head to head matchups into consideration is simply fooling themselves.

So yeah, you did miss something.
