Floyd was told to stand and fight then move in round 11 & 12. I am looking for opinions on round 11 alone. Was he effective and did he win this round, did he lose or was round 11 a draw. Castillo won that fight. So many complaints that a rematch was ordered. Judges were the best money could buy.
Wow, great round. I should watch this fight again. I myself scored want to score it even, but that's a worthless action. No judge scores an even round. Castillo had the first half of the round simply due to work rate, pounding the body. Mayweather didn't throw back. But the second half, Mayweather just opened up. That was extremely close, but I could see the judges giving it to Mayweather because of the flashy headshots. Seeing this also makes me sad at Castillo's deterioration.
I gave the round to Mayweather. Castillo was the more busy of the two and it apears that he lands more espicily early in the round but a lot of those shots were on the arms and back of Mayweather. Mayweather was more acurte with his punches and also sliped some of Castillo's punches as well.
i gave it to floyd he took a lot of castillo's shots on his arms castillo was taking what he could mayweather made his openings and landed the better shots
Funny how right after the decision was announced, Lampley was quick to say something like "certainly not the fight we just saw". Happens all the time anytime they don't quite agree with the decision.
I think this round indicates that Floyd can fight anyway he wants to. However because he rarely does it, he is sometimes tagged as not having any inside fight game. In pre-fight comments, the hbo commentators said they cant wait to see what Floyd as learned about inside fighting since the Castillo fight. I thought that statement was unfair, maybe it was just for marketing purposes.
Cmon Castillo won the first half of that round very clearly, Floyd had than a 30 second period where he was doing the better work ... and the last minute Castillo was more active and more effective again. For the life of me i can not understand anyone giving that round to Floyd unless they base the whole thing on a 30 second period of activity.
