    I know i mean WTF.:nut

Amazing reflexes is what i would say about Leonard or Jones jr. It shows the level of nuthuggery from Calzaghe fans to say something as ridiculous as that.

    Good>possibly

    Decent> fair enough

    Sufficient > more like it

    Amazing>******ed assessment.

His chin was good. He could take a shot.

His recovery was excellent too, you watch some fighters who, when they get hit their legs go and they look out of it, but Calzaghe always looks fresh again within seconds and on most occasions when he gets knocked down has won the rest of the round after he gets up.

Very Underrated jab and body work. His unorthodox style takes a lot of the focus but his jab won him fights, the second half of the Kessler fight when he set everything up off his right was textbook boxing . Hits harder to the body as well.

Add fast hands in combinations, imagination, a risk taker, never went into his shell under pressure, and excellent powers of recovery and you have a very strong all round game.

He loved it when he could be the counter puncher, some of his best performances came when his opponent tried to be attacking, Sheika for example was very aggressive and JC cut him to pieces with his hand speed and accuracy. Lacy showcased everything good about Calzaghe's game, combinations, handspeed, his strength in clinches, in and out fighting, uppercuts, relentless nature of his attacks, hugely impressive showing.

The middle portion of his career, when he wasted long periods fighting mediocre opponents with the odd good one thrown in will always damage his resume. He made some steps to improve his reputation in his latter years, but in some ways seeing how good he was physically past his prime makes it more frustrating that he did not secure bigger fights between 97-03. It did not have to be Hopkins/Jones/Wright, unification bouts at SMW would have greatly helped his standing.

It goes back way way longer than that if you include his amateur days

Yeah I mean he was nothing special. Boxing is littered with fighters with that type of record. ;)

Phenomenal powers of recovery, as well. You're not going to fight the style of fight he does and execute that gameplan without getting hit cleanly, and he's taken some brutal shots in the process; even when they knock him down, he not only gets back up quickly, but gets his senses back quickly to keep fighting. That leaves virtually no window for his opponent to capitalize on it by trying to finish him or knock him down again, and it also demoralizes the guy fighting him because you just hit him with your best shot and he's back in your face after a 4 count.

When i referred to his qualities i meant what he does in the ring. It goes without saying he had a good chin and that he is quick. :patsch

Serioulsy, three times in a 46 fight career!!!!

You just defeated your own arguement. Hatton got hit cleanly three times by Pacman and his career is over!!!!

He also has a good chin and can stand and slug, which a lot of fight fans forget. Look at the Mitchell fight.

He is an undefeated, undisptued world champion at two weights...name me anyone else, other thean floyd that is currently in the PfP that is undeafeated??? (that's where Joe was before retiring.)

Love him or hate/ slapper or not. Ordinary = NO

How did i defeat my own argument? its on you for not understanding my argument

Im not saying Joe IS ordinary. Im saying he LOOKS ordinary but he obviously isn't because he has beaten good fighters.

Read next time and try not to let your fanboy side take over.

Great reflexes, the guy has used his low guard as long as i could remember, there is a reason why jones did nothing about him show boating, joes reflexes, even a faded jones wouldn't of let a boxer get away with what joe did

Yeah he has the reflexes of a shot fighter who has been KTFO twice and the timing of a 40 year old man.
