Look how wide open he was for a counter right in #4.

he landed a solid uppercut, before that he was completely covered 100%. He head was behind the opponent's left shoulder

no way he could get hit by a counter right. The opponent would have to throw his right across his body, after getting hit flush by an uppercut.

    Look at their foot positions.

he was off balanced, he's in no business to counter with a right.

When was he one-dimensional? I don't get the point of this thread. He simply has just refined things as he's went along. Fact is, that in some fights he simply has let the warrior in him get in the way of his boxing at times.

if you never thought he was 1-dimensional, then this thread is not intended for you. Most people thought he was at that time despite evidence of the contrary

Well dodging and slipping is kind of required... whether you're one dimensional or not. You can't just lead with your face.

Fact is, back in those days he was one-dimensional. That doesn't mean he couldn't throw hooks and counters. It just means that his game plan was solely based on coming forward and landing the 1-2. Of course other punches were thrown in. But these days his other punches are weapons, not just "gap-fillers", and he is just as effective on the backfoot. His defense is far more sound, and his movement is superb.

yeh i agree, plus his shoulders looks to have gotten bigger which probably covers abit of his neck now.
