thats bull****, moseley lost to forrest at the same weight in which he beat ODLH in there 2nd fight which a majority of his reputation is built upon on....and lost to Winky twice at that same weight....as i said earlier in the thread ...

Great Fighter...who lost just a couple to many fights, give him a comeback win over wright or forrest and possibly the win over cotto and than you have a truly great resume

The cotto fight was very close. I just think its amazing how he is the guy to beat at welter at his age. Cotto still beats him in a rematch though, and it will still be close. Also you have to look past his losses, more at how he fights. Mosley had no business being in the ring with margarito bearing in mind the mayorga fight, and look what happened. I dont know how far mosley can go now but however he fights hes going in there to win by whatever means neccesary.

Mosley is rated fine, he's in most discussions regarding a Mayweather fight or Cotto, if he's underrated he won't be mentioned at all.

    Mosley's not really underrated.

He's recognized as one of the top fighters in this era.

I never get tired watching Mosley finish off Margarito, he just leaned forward and pounded him with everything that he got, so much so that he nearly fell over when Margarito went down. ****in quality, that's why boxing is the nuts.

Mosley is good but underrated? he still lost to Forrest two times and Winky twice and struggled in fights he shouldn't have. He did beat Margarito well, but Margarito was well overrated.

I still remember how incredible Mosley was when fighting at 135 !! I would have loved to see him and Mayweather collide at that weight before the year 2000 !!

I agree mosley has had a great career, but its hard to ignore the steroid issue. I wonder what people would say if mayweather jr tested positive for a banned substance. Thats the hypocritical bull crap that irritates me. Mosley is great fighter, but does he deserve an asterisk, its a fair question.

It is hypocritical. In observing why that's the case, it looks to me like fans are more likely to forgive him since he's got alot of other redeeming qualities- nice, humble, puts on a good fight, fights whoever, etc. Putting out a likeable image outside of the ring and putting on a good fight gives alot of leeway in terms of how much fans will hold it against you.

If he were a more polarizing fighter- like a Mayweather, Calzaghe, Hatton, Oscar, etc., I think there'd be significantly more backlash. Similar case with Evander and Tommy Morrison, where people acknowledge it, but don't really pay it much mind.

As someone pointed out in the other Mosley thread, the time of the infraction plays a part, too. If as many people were on sites like ESB back when Mosley-Hoya II came out, there'd probably be more of an outrage over it.
