Which fight? How did one fight do that? It took him his whole life to achieve everything.

One sided domination and beat down of Diego Corrales, lets not forget the man also fought and beat Castillo twice of which you and I know who really won the first fight, but the rematch def Floyds win, and the first fight near life and death atleast the closest any other fighter has been able to dish out to Floyd.

So just because Floyd is good enough to not get beat up he didn't earn what he's got?

The Corrales fight? That was a great performance. I think Corrales is a little overrated but Floyd dominated him with ease.

First you ask how he did prove himself, then you ask how he worth 300 millions, then what fight made him go down as "great"?

its not a case of what fight did he prove himself in. ppl have been saying hes overrated forever, but when they call on him to fight against ppl and he beats them, he still doesnt get recognition. facts are, hes beat legends such as DIEGO CORRALES, OSCAR DE LA HOYA and RICKY HATTON. also, i remember people saying ' we wanna see you fight baldomir' haha, lets say no more about that ay?! hes beaten zab judah, who at the time was gonna be the next best think since sliced bread, and beat him. he beat castillo and because there was so much controversy, he decided to have a rematch and beat him comfortably. he murdered arturo gatti, and when he beats marquez and pacquiao, ppl will still say things like ' you only fight ppl smaller than you, your a bully and scared'. REMEMBER THE SIZE DIFFERENCE AGAINST DE LA HOYA, CORRALES AND CASTILLO?

mayweather has fought and beat great fighters in his career, but in truth, people will always love humble fighters. if pacquiao went round saying 'i am the best, nobody can beat me' i guarantee you, people would hate him too! Its the old good v bad thing.

so all in all, i give you these fights which give floyd his p4p status...

    corrales
    gatti
    castillo 1 & 2
    zab judah
    de la hoya
    hatton

To me personally, I think the Oscar fight. Obviously Oscar was already past it, but I personally thought Oscar had enough to take Floyd, even with a KO. And plus the fact that Floyd went up in weight to fight Oscar.

The thing is below 140 he had a great career but as for the last 5-6 years he really lacks the resume and any fighter who had any stylistic or real physical advantages.

His 2nd fight with Castillo was really the last time he really proved anything after that he has had some really high profile fights against guys he was almost certain to beat.

His coming out party that really put him on the map and that guys like to talk about I believe his first big money was against Gatti who was already beaten by any top fighter he had previously faced.

Zab Hatton and Oscar were all good wins but he was supposed to beat them.

    :good

to give you something to think about though, manny can talk all the **** he wants and would still be loved....why ??? cause he backs up his talk

floyd has retired 3 times in order to let the smoke clear...he said it himself, how is that someone you can admire and respect....marquez and manny are great opponents, but if floyd himself is crying about the weight, why not fight at 147 and above...i mean, there is a lot of opponents that he can bank on money wise, but we all know he wants that guaranteed win, and that's what seperates him from manny......

    MANNY CLEARS SMOKE
    WHILE
FLOYD WAITS FOR THE SMOKE TO GET CLEARED

MANNY IS LIKE THE FIRE FIGHTER AND FLOYD IS LIKE THE CORONER !!!
