That was a great round but theres better.


One off the top of my head is Mcclellan/benn round 9 i think it was....simply incredible, they dug something out of knowhere and landed huge bombs. They both looked so fatigued and somehow they found something. I think it was the round where benn was knocked down for a second time. Theres so many subplots, like was Mcclellan already struggling from the effects of the blood clot?...when i watched it again quit recently i was simply amazed. Fights like those where the fighters are fatigued and struggling in some way seem to bring out the best rounds. Ofcourse that round with hagler /hearns was great but theres better, where the circumstances are more intense etc.

 

foreman vs lyle was sensational, "foremans in trouble, foremans in trouble. lyle's down, lyle's down".

 

Man, the fact that this was the first round of a fight that everyone couldn't wait to see... And Hagler, who was usually a slow starter came out the gate and started wailing on Hearns... only to get stunned first.

There were no knockdowns, but when have you ever seen Hagler stunned like that? In the very first round? And Hearns was stunned twice, near the neginning and at the very end. I don;t see how you could ask for more action in one round.

Can we at least agree that its the best opening round ever?

Best I've ever seen.

 

It probably is for the occasion. Off the top of my head. I think i said it was a great and thrilling round....but you dared anyone to come to you who thought it wasnt the best ever...and i took up the challenge:good

I was hoping to be the first to post it. Both of their fights were phenomenal, and that may have been the best of the 30 rounds they shared the ring for.
