Bob Arum has said openly that he doesn;t want to deal with anyone asking about a Paul Williams fight (because there was starting to be mounted pressure on him to sign Margarito with him) but all of a sudden Clottey shows up? Clottey ran his mouth for a fight right after PW signed to fight the Tomato can. Paul will fight Clottey, Cotto in the MSG, Shane, Floyd, Margarito down in Mexico, and anyone else. He'll fight them next week if he had the chance. And Dizzy and Paul just couldn't agree on $ and location, but they may be getting it on next fight.
and I have those fighters ranked ahead of Dawson dont I??? thing is who do you put on there after that??? Who has done more after those fighters??? Its hard to put Cotto ahead becasue he lost to Margo not only the lost but the way he lost. Its really not Dawsons fault that there is not p4p fighters for him to fight, in fact the best fighter there for him that he hasnt fought is Diaconu who I dont think is as good as the guys that he has been fighting.
the same people that say Margo was a joke and was never any good are the same people that have Williams in the top 5 based on a win over Margo.
Paul Williams is a top 4 P4P on my list. The man was froze out of the 147 division by Arum because he knows he would work any of his fighters. Mosley won't bite either. He's freak and beat the hell outta Winky. The guy has unlimited stamina and workrate and a good chin he gives anyone hell from 147-160. The Ring magazine should be sued for not putting him on the P4P list and having a guy like Caballero on instead.
if you think that beating a way past his best fighter that hadnt fought in two years(more time than Mayweather has been retired) is impressive than you have very low standards.
Paul Williams is one of my favorite fighters today, BUT, he has NOT faced a boxer that has power. I am sorry but but Margo, quintana, v philiips and winky wright respectfully do not represent boxers with power. My dream matchup would be a p will vs aa fight, and if he goes thru aa's punches, I will be the first here to eat crow and take ALL my words back.
