Looks terrible in round 1 but he's found a bit of range by the end of the fight. Still missing a fair bit though. And against a featherweight that is 38 or some ****.

But now that one is out of the way and he can get the show on the road!

    Any thoughts?

He was a bit sloppy, most likely from the ring rust and the added weight.

But he still had good form, ok footwork, and hand speed, and the power was obviously there. He will still be somewhat competitive with the best I think.

I just wish his stamina and punch resistance were tested so that we could make a better assessment of his performance.

Hmmm, his timing was off and he looked slow, but that could all just be due to ring rust. I have to see him in there again against a better opponent to better judge where he's at after the wars with Izzy.

By the way, great avy McGrain. Sexy, yet classy. Nice. :yep

Don't be too hard on him folks... layoff, new weight, ring rust (& coming back from 3WARS!).

    Marquez vs. Nishioka in Mexico!

And yes, Rafa did indeed look Rusty. But that is what these comeback/tuneup fights are for.

He was a good fighter, perhaps he can get his timing back.

Thanks. I nearly changed it to a picture of myself there in order to call you gay etc., but it seemed wrong.

    Would love to see it.

Horrible quality, out of sync video, but Rafa didn't look good at all. Still a rather easy win, but it's hard to say it was rust or he's over the hill - or both. The trilogy was too much for his health.

Looked a bit nervous if anything. Just easing back into things I suspect, I hope its not the other side of the coin...

Honestly he didn't look good at all.
He was rusty, missing a lot, getting tagged by Mendoza's jab way to easy, seemed not to have the same pop.
But all in all it was a glorified toon-up anyway.
Hope he gets another big fight(not Vazquez)

Yeah doesn't look too sharp there. He's still can give problems to anyone but I think a Juan Manuel Lopez would pick him apart. I think he has at least one or two big fights left in him

he looks small and his punches seem to have lost their sharpness. Hopefully he'll look better in his next one. You can't help but feel happy for the guy seeing him being lifted at the end of the fight.

PS. I thought Barrera looked even worse in his tuneup fight before Khan
