I tell you what forget all the back and forth about Mayweather, if he is the best fighter in the world let him fight Williams at 147..... let PBF with all the Physical disadvantages give big Will a Chico Corrales type beatdown and I will shut the f--- up.It wold prove to many how great this guy is and I and many others would gain respect and admire this man,,,,,even Larry Merchant would come clean.as it stands now, should Marquez kick his ass it will be he that grows in stature, and should PBF win he will get absolutely no credit.

If Cotto/Mosley/Clottey/Berto is so good why doesn't he fight Williams at 147?

It's not just Floyd, the entire division is ducking him.

Forget Williams, he should be fighting middleweights.

The welters don't need him and any combination of the above named fighters( Cotto/Mosley/Clottey/Berto/PBF) would keep us satisfied for a couple of years. And if Manny and Margarito join the fray later on, the better!

All u Williams nuthuggers, Your boy is a big ***** fighting at Welter. Look at the size of him, he should be at least a Middleweight. Floyd is a small Welter coming up from 130. I dont hear you saying put Pacman in there with Williams. Why would Floyd fight this guy, there is no money in it. Williams who?? He hasnt got no rep or weight. I do however think Mayweather needs to step up and face Mosley and Cotto if Cotto gets past Clottey.

Floyd wont fight Williams ever. He's too big and strong with too high a workrate. It's a dare to be great situation, hence it will never happen. Shame, Floyd would shut a lot of people up win or lose I think.

As for Williams not being a true welter, he walks around lighter than Mosely, Cotto, Margarito etc. In fact he walks around at the same weight as Mayweather... so shouldn't it be Mayweather vs Pavlik? Floyd is great, shame his attitude and that of his fans sucks.

Floyd has the opportunity to silence his critics with this 5-fight (apparently) comeback.
If, after JMM, he fights Mosley, Cotto, Williams and any other top fighter, no-one could accuse him of cherry-picking or avoiding the best welters.
Can't see it happening but it would be a tremendous boost to his career and legacy.
Even if he were to lose one of those fights, I doubt many fans would lose respect for him.

he's builds not freaky, what's freaky is the stregth, workrate and speed he has despite being so damn skinny lol. 147 is clearly his natural weight though, his workrate is proof enough for me.

If Mayweather's legacy wasn't built around that zero and Castillo had got the nod in the first fight, then this fight would have a good chance of happening.
