choc has made people jugde him outside of the ring more than inside the ring by his own doing. kegsy, i guess bitter is the wrong word, more gutted.
Geale looked impressive against Mundine cause he employed the Sam Soliman "throw a million when Mundine throws". It might not work on the next guy. Geales workrate was great but equally as classy was tha Man deal
And anyone who buys into that crap are just falling for it! It's a promotional tactic to draw a crowd. The real Mundine is quite reserved outside of the ring, if he's able to sucker in all the people that want to see him get his head knocked out and make money off of that then he's obviously alot smarter than he is leading on. I don't think he is a bad character at all when he's promoting himself, it's an old-age ploy, blame Ali.
Trust me mate me & a couple of my close boxing mates who all met Geale as an amateur are completely gutted too.
Well, to be honest, I don't think he has what it takes to beat any of the top guys overseas but I don't judge the **** because he spouts Ali quotes all the time, but hey, I grew up with pro wrestling in the 80's so I totally get the whole entertainment/sports thing.
caleb, i say my thoughts, i dont want people to agree with me just so we can play the us vs u crap. teke, geale wasnt all wild like sam. i thinkl he snapped back choc head a few times, give a little credit for his pressure, dont say he just slugged it out with the man.
No he wasnt wild like Sam but he employed the same kind of plan. He's a good fighter who was beaten by a better one.
What a great close fight it was. I was at a club 20 meters from the screen so couldn't really score the fight properly and gave up after about the 3rd round as each round was close and very hard to score. I will say one thing. **** OFF DANNY GREEN AND NINA. If Mundine rematches anyone it should be Geale. Geale did the correct thing by keeping up a very good workrate throughout the fight. This is what really troubled Mundine. Anthony probably landed the cleaner punches throughout but as i said Geale threw more and kept up a good workrate throughout. As someone mentioned earlier Barry Michael is still hanging from Mundine's nuts as he gave all close rounds to Anthony. Neither of these guys can punch at all at the elite level at 160 and i'm very confident that Sturm/Pavlik/Abraham would beat both Geale and Mundine. Hopefully this ends the stupid Green-Mundine rematch at 175 because seriously Anthony might struggle to beat Green if he has to move up to Green's weight of 175 now. Once again a great performance by Geale he really impressed me tonight.
Yeah Francis **** the Green rematch off. Geale deserves a rematch but **** that, Mundine should just get one of the so-called big names. Years and years have passed with the same story, go test yourself in the big arena.
They should both part ways & go overseas. We all know they wont take the world over, but are both top class fighters who will be competitive o/s
Imo Anthony won't fight one of the big 3 at 160 now that he had a life and death struggle with Daniel Geale. I hope he does but i just don't see Anthony stepping up. I think Anthony was seriously shocked how close Geale came to beating him tonight.
