Pacquiao is the champion at 140 and it seems clear that Tim Bradley has established himself as the no.1 contender of that division. Yet noone seems to be talking about this fight? I understand there are bigger fights to be made for Pac but I don't think he should just keep the division hostage in the meantime. I've always felt that in between mega-fights a champion should defend his title against a lesser-known but worthy contenders. To top it off if Manny can make over 3 Million fighting Diaz then he should be good for at least 6-7 million against Bradley if not omre. So anyways I'd like to see this fight. Bradley is young and very strong and pretty quick with a solid right hand I think he would trouble Pac and win a couple of rounds on route to losing a decision. Lets make it happen :happy
http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=140071 I started a thread about this fight. Roach wanted pac to have an interim fight and he mentions timothy bradley or edwin valero as the possible opponents. Freddie Roach, Manny Pacquiao’s trainer, wants the boxer to have an interim fight this summer before he faces the winner of Floyd Mayweather Jr.-Juan Manuel Marquez or another big-name opponent at year’s end. The question is: Who would he face? There’s no obvious answer. Timothy Bradley and Edwin Valero are possibilities.
Pac beating Hatton.. ruined 140lbs. Real talk, The division has been ripped apart & spit-out. Pacquaio is not going to fight the 140lbs. (& I don't expect him to) But the division was killed over night when Pac landed that punch. Maybe Bradley Vs. Ortiz? in 2010 could save it...? Khan? (Hatton comeback vs. ^^^) But as for Pac in 140lbs, nah don't hold your breathe on that one. ("Superfights" only from here on out.)
thats why i think he should vacate, i mean i wouldn't exactly call it holding the division hostage if he's fighting tougher opponents right b4 he hangs it up Bradleys a good fighter, as are alot of the other 140lbers outthere, it's a bright division, but realistically for him to go out fighting Bradley, instead of some1 we dont know he'd destroy, i wouldn't wanna see that, so i think he should just 4get about the 140 title, besides, i dont think he too much cares about titles at this point, i think he's more interested in money and legacy, and fighting a Cotto, Mosley, Mayweather, JMM etc. is better for his legacy then defending his 140lb title against an up and comer
so for you its catchweight fights against the top WWs? I agree with you on one thing and thats that i don't want him to go out fighting Bradley but then again I don't think he should retire before the age of 35
this fight would be a waste of time for Pac it adds nothing to his legacy. btw Pac would knock Bradley out.
Wouldn't surprise me if Bradley went down as quickly as Hatton did. This fight would be a waste of everyone's time.
That will be the assumption. But the 140lbs will just have to move on.... (And except the fact that people already have them as K.O. vic's Vs. Pac.) I agree w/Monstar. Pac should vacate his 140lbs strap, & let the division continue to grow. Throw him a ring belt, and leave the alphabet soup's. (He don't need it anymore)
Monstar, I can't even comment I keep getting distracted by that very tasty looking picture of Megan Fox under your name..... man, she's so do-able!!!
Pac needs Cotto/Mosley. The only reason he made 3Mill in the Diaz fight is cause any mexican boxer usually has a huge following. Bradley, Holt, Witter, Torres are too much risk and little reward. Malignaggi is his only hope if he really wants to fight an easy fight in Oct and hell probably get 3 mill for it but that would be a cowardly move.
If Manny really made 3 million fighting Diaz then I think he would make more fighting Campbell or Bradly.
