Exactly - if Floyd (or Pac) lets money stop this fight, I & I assume many others aswell will have 0 respect for whichever fighter is to blame, if not both fighters. Thats all I have to say on the $ matter because its a side of boxing which truly disgusts me.
So the recession affects UFC fans differently than it does boxing fans? Let's not forget that boxing fans are generally older and have more disposable income.
Well Arum is also asking for 60/40, but for PAC. If neither side budges, the fight will not happen. In a previous post somebody mentioned 40/40, with the extra 20 going to the winner. This seems fair for the two who claim to be the best. It will never happen though.
You lot need to RELAX there's no way this fight won't happen. There is way, way too much money involved for it not too happen! It's exactly what i was saying when Pacquiao-Hatton 'appeared' to be dead..... and look what happened, you work it out.
Also, since DLH took the lions share in his fights - 50/50 will probably be the biggest payday for both PAC and PBF.
That makes perfect sense.... because whatever way you look at it the true P4P champ will get the largest share.... which is what the problem is in the first place.
Boxing fans come in all ages? I'm 22 years old, and most people I talk too nowdays that around my age group say they like Boxing more because they don't like watching all that wrestling on the floor. Many joke about them being gay and stuff with their tight shorts and hugging ways.... but what can you do?
The fight is gonna happen, dont worry guys. Boxing will fall apart if this fight doesnt happen, all the casual fans will be gone because they wont know why Mayweather-Pacquiao fight isnt happening

Never once did I ever argue that UFC and boxing fans are one in the same. However, a recession will affect everyone. So why would a UFC fan continue to spend on PPV's moreso than a boxing fan? Let's also keep in mind that the UFC fans are generally younger and therefore have less money than boxing fans. The UFC also has PPVs every month compared to 3 or 4 major PPVs a year for boxing. Despite having PPVs every month, the UFC experienced a spike in PPV sales since Nov. of 2008. There have only been 3 major PPV events in that time frame and 2 of them did extremely well. It seems to me that product quality is driving these numbers, and that recession has had little effect on PPV sales.
"Generally', means taking a group as a whole, not simply looking at a small sample that includes you and a few friends. Boxing fans, on average, are older than UFC fans. This should come as no surprise given how much longer the sport of boxing has been around.
