The fights that need to take place first are Floyd vs Mosley then maybe Cotto.
Let Pac and Marquez finish what they've got going on Those are much more meaningful fights over time. If Floyd fights Pac he will be remembered as the guy who retired when there was one of the best welterweight divisions around which he belonged to. Without fighting them he retired and cameback to fight a superfeather moving up.

A WIN OVER PAC WILL NOT LEAVE HIM LOOKED AT AS THE BETTER FIGHTER OF THIS GENERATION

This is ridiculous in my opinion. That's the fight the majority want, hardcores, casuals and even none boxing fans will tune in for it. It's the biggest fight in boxing right now and the fight that SHOULD happen. You preferring a fight with Cotto means nothing in this discussion compared to the majority who would rather see him fight Pacquiao first.

Who cares if people think he ducked Pacquiao... If he fights Cotto and Mosley back to back, whoever thinks that is the idiot. Not the ones saying fighting Mosley and Cotto is better for his legacy.

Truth is Pac is smaller. Shane keeps getting older and older. And Cotto might get in too many wars.

Pac's been in lots of tough fights you think those "people" you mention won't say he's been in too many wars + he's the smaller man?

I'd rather see him fight 2 welters. He needs to fight those 2 guys ASAP before they are shot.

He has his eyes on Mosley anyway, that's a given. A win over Pacquiao and Mosley would definitely make him the greatest of this generation. Cotto isn't even in discussion till we see how he does against Clottey.

And if he doesn't fight 2 welterweights then he's ducking Pacquiao and if he fights Pacquiao he's ducking two welterweights.

This is ONE man you're talking about, not a group of people. Wake the **** up already.

The lineal and or ring belt is not always whose the best.It is over all the best gauge but there are many circumstances where it fails.Recently I can think of Nate Campbell at lightweight being the man while Casa held the belt hostage. Jones was considered the best at light heavy while Michalchezski had the strap.

So Cotto or Shane couldn't beaten baldomir too? lol! Obliterated? He boxed circles around that bum until the concrete gloves kicked in. How can you question my knowlege of active fighters? I'm just as big a fight fan as you are and a bigger Floyd fan. That's an insult to my intelligence claiming I dont know Baldomir. I know he's a bum and if it were a real threat Floyd wouldn't even have fought him without Roger in the corner. Why do you keep mentioning Margarito anyway? Where did I EVER say he should fight that bum? My knowlege of active fighters was poor. Kiss my ass.

Mayweather will take the path of least resistance like he always does, no way he faces any of the top welter's and it has been this way for years now.

Sorry dude, Mayweather has to fight Pacquiao or everybody will say Pacquiao is still p4p and that pisses him off. the WW division is great but theres only 1 great boxer in there and thats Mosley. even if Mayweather beat Cotto, what does that prove?? hes not even the champ of the division. beating Pacman? proves he fought the best boxer in the world and is best fighter of this era if he wins.

Like I said, If Cotto beats Clottey convincingly. And Floyd fights him and Mosley. Then whoever said he ducked Pac is an idiot.

Yea both of those wins will definitely help his case I think with those he will still need a Cotto type fight also. But he needs to regain the welter Crown and prove he didn't retire to avoid stiff challenges.

Pac should just dominate 140 and Floyd should dominate 147. They don't need each other.
