That doesn't mean he was still in his prime.

Barrera was a titleholder and top P4P rated fighter when Pacquiao beat him, and he would go on to win another title again after that as well.

Good point. And I do believe that Pacman beat an older Morales and Barrera-good wins but not as impressive as if they were younger. Going back to the Hearns and Duran fight. The thing I do not accept about Duran fans claims and excuses are that Duran got credit for being great when he beat Moore and went 15 with Hagler. Then when he loses to Hearns all of a sudden he was old. Ridiculous. Somehow he becomes great again when he beat Barkley in 1989-5 years after Hearns knocked him out.

I am not sure unfair. It is a poll on ESB where boxing fans vote. It is not a poll of boxing experts.

Barrera was prime when Pac fought him in 2003, when will people ever realize that? 14 years of being a professional don't mean ANYTHING at all since he had his best winning streak before the loss to Pac. Then after the loss to Pac, he CONTINUED that winning ways, including a win over Morales a 3rd time in which he was the underdog. Then 4 years after the loss to Pac, MAB gave the current P4P #2 one of his toughest fights ever.

Until this day, I have not seen any viable proof that MAB of 2003 was already past it. No proof at all. All I see is how long he was boxing so he must be past it. Hell, Pac started boxing in 1995. That's also 14 years of being a professional boxer. I guess he's also past his prime now eh?

I always thought MAB was a little overrated. Great fighter but a little overrated. The two Junior Jones fights were an indication of something. And he did fight Pacman later in his career. Beating Morales when both were diminished does not mean that much for Barrera. Barrera is a little like Shane. They do well when they matchup good stylistically, but then they flop at times. Morales was a bit more consistent than Barrera.

If Pacman loses now there will be people who say he is not prime as a fighter and in his 14th year yeah. If he keeps winning it does not matter. Duran fans always use that excuse when Duran lost in the 1980s, but when he won they said he was great.

Duran was a far superior fighter then Hatton. And by giving Hagler a run for his money just prior shows that. Hatton after being dominated and KO'd by Floyd then got nearly stopped by Lascano, and was rocked by feather fisted Malignaggi, both C level fighters. Hagler was A level. It was clear Hattons punch resistence was gone. If you believe Hatton even compares to Hearns over Duran you are clearly delusional and should seek help.

:rofl sorry. De La Hoya was fighting at a weightclass he hadnt fought in in 10 years. Not to menton he was already shot and the fact that he had IV marks in his arm.

No. Beating a solid multi-weight champ in Virgil Hill out of your prime at light heavyweight when you started out as a welter is better then beating a past his prime shot weight drained Oscar any day

You do know that Benitez broke his ankle in the fight dont you? And managed to slip most of Moore's punches even though his ankle was infact broken. Meanwhile back in reality. Benitez was a 3 weight champ and was the light middleweight champion of the world when Hearns beat him. I'll give you Marquez, but neither Barrera or Morales really did anything of note after Pacquiao beat them. Morales was firmly in decline without a doubt. Had just lost to Zahir Raheem.

Just shows how much more Floyd fans know about boxing then Pac fans and can eb objective. I would never said Floyd had a better career then Hearns. What are you gonna do when Pac loses. Go on rooting for the next philipino phenomenon? You might have to wait another 100 years but go for it. :rofl

only to someone who was not old enough to remember the 1980s. If someone was old enough to watch Hearns from 1977 to when he won his title from Virgil Hill then you would be voting for Hearns.

Still Pacman has not beaten Mayweather. He has beaten a washed up Oscar and an good fighter but limited guy in Hatton.

exactly. Pacman seems to like to fight guys at the end of thier career and Floyd is sort of near the end also. Pacman is lucky. Maybe someday he will fight a young prime guy. As of now a little overrated.
