Pac knows what Floyd can do. He lasted 12 rounds w/ dela Hoya and 10 rounds against Hatton. No initial shock. Floyd will have the shock of his life when he gets a flush from Pac's left.

Mayweather only opens up with genuine combinations these days when:

    A) The other guy has gassed.

    B) The other guy is clearly hurt/buzzed.

    C) Both, as was the case for Hatton.

I simply cannot see Pac gassing -- he's like Mayweather in that he keeps himself supremely conditioned. He has a hell of a tank to fall back on. The second option (B) is more difficult to determine, but Pac's chin has given us no cause to doubt him in his last couple of fights, having taken big shots from Morales, perfectly timed counters from Marquez, etc. He's been knocked out before, but that was when he was a completely different fighter, with a far weaker body. I agree that Mayweather isn't feather fisted, but he certainly isn't a power puncher either. Mayweather is a rapier rather than a hammer -- he stings, stings, stings with surgical precision, until the other guy gradually loses all his belief in himself, and then they naturally either get outpointed or end up completely shut down, ala Hatton. Mayweather breaks you down rather than blows you away. I'm not sure such an approach would work on a guy as utterly tough as Pac (even if Mayweather is the naturally bigger man) but I grant that Mayweather's good enough for me to leave that possibility open. Indeed, Mayweather should be the favourite for this fight, but I personally think he's going to have a hell of a time taming Pacman -- this is no crude Hatton, or even cruder Baldomir, and it certainly isn't Zab 'start strong but fade after a few rounds' Judah. He'll be facing a little southpaw beast in that ring, one that throws constantly, hits bloody hard, has speed to match him and constantly improves under one of the greatest trainers in this sport.

And what are you gonna say when Floyd takes out JMM in 10? You know the same guy who Pac could never decisively beat and looked like he needed plastic surgery after their fight. :hey

Pac is not crude. But he's not polished either. He's punches are wide, and he throws with his head down alot. As Marquez showed he can be timed and timed often. And given news from his training camp he still struggles with fighters who have great right hands.

We will see. Oh we will see.

    We'll see about that.

Pac is RING Magazine #1, and as long as the vast majority of people acknowledge him as the P4P king, then I doubt he gives a rats ass what you say.:smoke

Maybe he can, maybe not. Let him do that first. He better be good against Marquez. He has to to get a better leverage in the negotiation table.

Unlike you, Freddie and Pac are far from idiots. Don't you worry, they'll be ready on the night.

It's his accomplishments, stupid, not the media. Media is the messenger of truth, don't shoot it.

Pac is certainly not technically perfect, but his sheer speed allows him to get away with it, just like Mayweather's speed allows him to often get away with jumping in with the left-hook or using the shoulder-roll instead of the classic guard. Mayweather has the skill, experience, reflexes and such to time Pac, but the problem is he's a completely different style of counter-puncher than Marquez. Marquez is not as much of a complete fighter as Mayweather, and he takes faaaaaar too much shots, but he has a beautiful ability to almost slip and throw counter combinations simultaneously -- it's not so much a 1-2 rythm as it is a single fluid motion, and Pac has always hated having to deal with it. Mayweather is entirely different in that he's more of a calm, pot-shotting counter specialist. He'll deflect shots with his left elbow and then throw a right-straight or uppercut, or throw sharp, unexpected left-hooks while moving backward/to the side. When he opens up with combinations he often does so while standing still, unlike Marquez's more aggressive jump-in-and-throw approach.
