Dont forget Zab was acually successful with BODYPUNCHES in thier fight. Imagine would Cotto would do if he can get to the body as much as Judah did in the first 4 rounds.

That he did, but Shane really wasn't setting up his shots in that fight. He was loading up with that right all night long. Cotto could see it a mile away. Clottey is a bit more sneaky with that right hand. And if Cotto isn't expecting it, that could be trouble.

How do you define successful? He never hurt or detered Clottey.

You're 100% right... Clottey is a big tough dude for a welterweight.
He comes in as high as 170lbs on fight night! Thats a big WW!

And he knows how to fight... tight defence,,, sound findamentals combined with occasional dirty tactics + a solid chin and big heart...

This is a tough fight. :deal

Of course. In fact, as long as he perfoms admirably(win or lose), I'll give him props. Now I don't expect you to give him much props if he wins as you claim this is an easy fight for him.

interesting. but i'm not sure that clottey will be able to get to cotto very easily. he marches around the ring while cotto is super evasive and wily with his footwork.

though margo was a marcher too...hmm. tough one. cotto by points i'd say, but no walk in the park. i think i agree with most on this.

Nah, he'll get props....and a fair amount, but it won't be his biggest or most suprising win for me, a good one but not a great 1

He'd have to stop him for me to be suprised or overly impressed, I think Clottey will give any1 a good fight from Pac to Mosley and in between, but I don't think he has enough to beat P4P caliber fighters like these guys, which is why if Cotto beats him I don't think he should be looked at much differently

I pick Clottey because he is great defensively and physically strong. Also, unless Cotto has learned to change his "backwards style" versus pressure fighters, he is in for a long and painful night.

If anyone remembers the Cotto-N'Dou fight you would see that N'Dou uses almost the same type defense as Clottey and during that fight N'Dou ate plenty of uppercuts. At one point he ate like 7 in a row. So Clottey would be the only one landing that punch successful.

Cotto has better stanima then Clottey does so I dont get all this Cotto gets tired late in fights stuff. He did pretty well in the late rounds against Shane.

How can you believe this when you have remarked that this will be an easy fight for Cotto and that Clottey has nothing in his aresnal that can bother Cotto? Why would you give props to someone for beating a fighter that is tailor made for them according to your own analysis?

i gotta admit when i saw the betting odds i was surprised how much of a heavy favourite cotto is. you get better odds on mayweather beating marquez??
it might be worth a punt on clottey

Whats good about being a pressure fighter if he is not willing to throw continuesly. Thats how Margo beat Cotto, by coming forward and always throwing. I dont see Clottey doing this for 12 rounds.

Cotto always keeps up the body punches, somehow he was suckered into ignoring those against Margarito because Margarito's face was wide open and he fell for it. If he sticks to body shots I won't be surprised if he knocks him out with a body shot midround. Clottey has serious stamina issues and Cotto is the best opponent to exploit that due to his serious body work.
