If you come on, start your post with a  and then challenge my premises, particularly if you may not have even read the links I used as support, then it's open season. You're mocking me, my research and my credibility. And you appear to have fallen for Shaw's ruse.

If you can't challenge the facts, then don't say anything. If you are determined to argue your case in spite of the facts, and take me on when I have the facts on my side, then deal with the consequences.

    And don't whine about it.

I know what I'm talking about and know more than you do on this subject. You might not like that, but that's not my problem or fault. I did the research, it's not like I was born knowing the information. You can correct that disparity if you want, but don't expect to argue from what you want to be true against facts and expect me to indulge in that debate. I'm not going to do that, but I will make sure the readers know who knows what, etc. Because they deserve to know the truth, not because I have some need to elevate myself or boast.

This is the last post I'm going to make to you for a bit just because I have to get other stuff done. Take care, and best of luck to Chad Dawson.

    :thumbsup

lets dig up the bones of harry greb and let dawson slug it out with them for 12 rounds...

failing that then a rermatch with the geriatric jamaican would do wonders for his sponsorship deal with "help the aged".

I am not arguing with your facts, or the fact that Dawson has willingly replaced a fight with Cloud with a Johnson matchup. I am just questioning your assertion that Dawson is a fraud on the grounds of Diaconu and Cloud. I understand you are claiming you are just here to give everyone the raw facts, but your agenda is clearly to discredit Dawson overall, hence the aggressive avatar and target of the topic.

Chances are if Cloud manages to beat a decent fighter or two the matchup will happen anyway. Right now Dawson has opted for the more appropriate financial matchup, and the more appropriate matchup from a legacy building standpoint.

Simply put, i don't agree that seeking a more meaningful fight could on any grounds constitutes him being a fraud. But you have your thoughts and i have mine, so we can leave it here, for now.

sad thing is this is how the hate starts...If one was to go back and check the post of some of the people bitching about Dawson fighting Johnson instead of Cloud you would find they were the very same people bitching about Dawson not fighting Johnson. so what does that mean???It means that no matter what Dawson would have done they would still be bitching. If he had fought Cloud they would be bitching that he isnt fighting Johnson.

Yeah and not to mention the moron claimed just a short while ago that Dawson didnt have the balls to rematch Johnson, but once he did now he is ducking Cloud...

HBO was covering their ass. They don't want to make it look like they won't make title fights, and they probably would have made a Cloud fight, but it would have been for a small fraction of the fight they really wanted. A Dawson-Johnson rematch loses a lot of its luster if he waits much longer for it, and he wouldn't have been guaranteed HBO money for it if he hadn't made it now, since Dawson only signed a 2-fight deal with HBO.

Dawson definitely is starting to look a bit chicken**** though.

yeah gotta think hbo pushed the johnson rematch as no causal fan knows cloud and dawson's an iffy seller as it is. every fan of boxing knows that whatever his age johnson is still one of the best lhw's and that he lost a very disputed decision to dawson. considering johnson's age, you have to strike why the iron is hot (by doing the rematch now rather then in a year or more down the road where glen could lose some of his momentum.) it is surprising that dawson would give up all of his major belts, but given the circumstances (again including that cloud is a nobody to the casual fan and hasn't really beat any major lhw), i don't see this as a 'duck' of cloud. after all, assuming he gets by johnson all that will be left will be the younger guys anyway so those fights will be made

That's funny...anyone can tell you dont know **** about boxing because isnt Chad a southpaw? So tell me how is Diaconu's left hand made for Dawson's low left hand? Please tell me how that works. Maybe you should a little more attention the sport before posting dumb ****.

Boxing is a business...Diaconu should have fought Glen Johnson...beat him make name make the fight worth something...brighten the division then face off. That works for the fans as well as the fighters...

exactly. how the hell can you say he's "ducking" cloud? right now cloud doesn't even belong in the ring with the guy. at least he's going after a guy who gave him trouble and who a lot of people think got close to beating him. not to mention a fight with johnson will actually give him a payday and be on tv. give dawson a ****in break. honestly, who would you like him to fight at 175?

I'm just going to assume you didn't see the Tarver fights, especially the first one, with Dawson holding his left hand at his waist. THAT'S the low left hand I'm talking about.

Think more, post less. Especially if you're going to try to challenge me on what I'm posting.

I know you're a Dawson nuthugger, and my exposing of Shaw's shell game likely stings, but them's the breaks. Tell Chad to stop dropping straps and Shaw to stop making up phony cover stories and they'll be nothing for me to write on the subject.

Also, you might want to tell Chad to keep his left hand up, and to take less time off during rounds.

Everyone was saying Dawson was ducking a rematch with Johnson and said that Johnson was ducking him but now hes facing him. Either way he will have fought 4 fights against 2 previous number 1 light heavyweights back to back and have the win over the cruserweight number 1. Dawson was gunning for fights with Hopkins, Calzaghe, Kessler amongst others, they didn't want to face him.

I'm sure if Cloud comes good and gets a good run together the fight will happen if Dawson too is still winning.

Boxing fans want a fighter to have faced all the top 10 in their division within 12months, not going to happen and even if they do, they're 'ducking' someone in the division below or above

I made a mistake, and I have to give Stezzie props for pointing it out. Good work, Stezzie. :thumbsup

The hand which Dawson was keeping low during the Tarver fights was his right, not his left. I was thinking of the proper punch to counter that (a left), and was thinking about Dawson from an opponent's perspective (the mirror image thing; his right hand being low is to my left as I look towards him)

This is why Dawson is a sitting duck for Diaconu's left hook. He's a southpaw, his lead foot is the right and he (sometimes) keeps his right hand low. That is a recipe for a big left hand to be landed by an opponent such as Diaconu (or Cloud).

The amount that Dawson had his right hand held low in the first Tarver fight reminded of how Carl Froch fights with his low hand(s). At some point, that flaw in technique is going to cost you. It might not against 40 year olds, but if you try that with faster fighters with more energy, then problems begin. Particularly when you have Dawson's questionable chin (he has said himself that his chin is a question mark). And Froch has a lot more in the chin department, needless to say, than does Dawson.

As I said earlier in this thread, you have to call it like it is to have credibility. I made a mistake, and I had to own up to it. :hat

The interesting thing is that even Chad don't believe in his win over
Johnson since he drops his belt for getting the rematch.

Great...now know actually reading the post. Dude Diaconu is not the threat you think he his. Lets not forget that backed out of the fight with Dawson when he had his chance. Yeah Dawson does keep his right low at times but if you notice thats alway when he is out of range. It's even used as a decoy to invite a right hand so he can counter with his own right. I think it for him.

Nut hugger I am not. I forget that on this site you are either a nut-hugger or a hater. No shades of gray. As far as your logic for the Cloud fight...what has Cloud done? Where is he even at?? The guy needs to fight his way up to the top. Cloud and Dawson both lose from a monetary standpoint fight now. Even from a pure boxing legacy stand point. It's just not time for that fight...Cloud needs to do more not only for money but frankly I dont think he is ready and I think he has a lot more potential. You have to be patient...
