Plus, didn't Collazo break his hand like 3 rounds into that fight?

No they don't and that's not what I was referring to, Collazo doesn't fight like Rivera either and we know what happened in that fight. My point is that Berto can be troubled and if Collazo did it recently then Urango has a decent chance as well.

Nobody will ever destroy Collazo though. His style is just too finicky to get destroyed. What Mosley did was the closest thing to destroying him.

    Collazo is certainly underrated though.

And for the people saying "They fight two different styles", that's at the height of irrelevancy on this. The point is Berto has a habit of fighting his opponents fights when he gets uncomfortable. He did it in spots against Forbes and did it full on against Collazo. If he fights Urango's fight, he leaves himself wide open to get KD or potentially stopped. Urango might not have the speed or the skills to handle Berto but if it turns into that all important "dog fight", He has light tower power that could really do damage.

Forget Collazo, Berto went life and death with Estrada until he finally knocked him out.

But if they don't have the same attributes and one is clearly more talented than the other, I don't see how the result of the one fight is relevant to the upcoming fight. That's like saying everyone, regardless of skill level and style, has at least a decent chance of troubling Mayweather because Castillo did. No fighter is going to breeze through every fight.

Has that ever been confirmed? Or is that like all the times Joshua Clottey had a broken hand but it turned out to be a bruised knuckle.

Look, Berto SHOULD win this fight, but I wouldn't count out Urango who's made improvements since his fight with Hatton, a fight in which he was very green.

Urango appears to be more aggressive and better able to pace himself through the duration of the fight.

But he still does have that lean foward style that will make him open at times to be hit with Berto's best punch, which is an often telegraphed right uppercut.

Berto seriously hurt some unknown Mexican fighter with that punch before his fight with Collazo and managed to clock Collazo a few times with that punch, but without doing SERIOUS damage, but definitely enough to get Collazo's attention.

Fact is, Berto has excellent athleticism, especially speed, and is able to deliver flashy combinations that SOUND like they hurt, but his defense has some significant holes in it as he is relatively stiff and has bad footwork.

Berto won't be able to use his footwork alone to keep his distance away from Urango who is a very tough fighter, so he will have to gain his respect early and keep Urango tenative. But this fight will often evolve into a brawl that will be in Urango's favor, as that is his fight and likely what he is trying to do.

Berto's key punch will be the uppercut when Urango comes in, trying to hit him off balance, and his gameplan should be to obviously establish distance, and then tie Urango up when he gets inside.

Still though.....don't be incredibly surprised if Urango knocks Berto out.

If you're gonna make a bet, and I'm sure Berto is heavily favored, I would bet Urango by KO, as you don't win money by betting on the favorite.

Pretty much every report about that fight says he broke his thumb in the second. He also had to sit out for ages after that fight because of the injury. So I'd say yes, it's real.

Anyway, it's the very fact that Berto brings it that will leave him in trouble in this fight. Berto's smart fight would be to pop combos off the back foot and let Urango chase him around the ring all night. If Berto does that, he'll cruise to a unanimous decision. Unfortunately for Berto, he seems to have too much pride (or not enough brains) to fight a smart fight. He has a habit of getting aggressive, backing guys into the ropes, and unleashing pitty pat flashy combos on them. Estrada and Rivera both got him in trouble when he was in those situations. Urango punches much harder than either of them. Sure, Berto's quick, but if he's too focused on offense and not enough on defense, he's gonna get caught by an uppercut or a looping left hook that comes over the top.

Best advice for Urango is to go for broke and try to knock out Berto or get knocked out himself which is better than getting beat to a pulp through 12 long rounds. If the KO doesn't come then work the body, but he definitely needs to make it rough.
