    My thoughts exactly.

He is grasping at straws, ie his aboriginal heritage, in an effort to assume the persona of angry black man from the ghetto. Which he is not.

He may well have strong political views over Aboriginal peoples, but he is acting like a complete wannabe here, and using that supposed basis to convey himself as an American style black rapper.

I probably have 40-50 points of IQ more than he does. I think it's safe to say he's an idiot.

No, he assumes a "black" identity. That is not the ****ing same. He doesn't know what it's like to be black. **** that poser mother****er. Is this mother****er even 50% aborigine? Sure as **** doesn't look it.

Look at his Dad you moron - he is aboriginal. The Australian government stole a generation of aboriginals from their parents. Now there are hardly any "black" aboriginals in Australia. They are all shades of colour.

If this is the best you can do to bring the guy down....shame on you. :-(

Think of what the guy has done for Austrailan boxing? He talks big in order to market himself, like Ali, like PBF. He doesn't care if people don't like him, he wants bums on seats.

Black basically means 'of African negroid decendency'.

    For example:

Who is the black person out of these people?:

    1. The Eskimo?

Anthony calling himself black is just about as laughable as somone like cotto calling himself black. Black refers to those of african descent. Even if some people may call aboriginals black, that does not make it a proper definition. I dont think Anthony experiences any of the horrors african black americans had to go through.... I think he just wants to be cool :yep but thats why alot of people do things....:patsch

It's not about his actual skin tone being black its to do with his Aboriginal heritage..

I myself am of Aboriginal blood yet my skin is still reasonably fair (browner then most full white people but not "blacK") due to my mother being of white australian blood..

however like Anthony i claim my aboriginal heritage and identify myself as aboriginal regardless of the mix ratio of white black blood....

Im sure Anthony follows the same belief i do.. and its pretty well known Aboriginal people are black so by callin himself Black Superman its just him sayin Aboriginal Superman...

Its not sayin the colour of his skin is white or black but more so him expressing his aboriginality... if u were to ask someone in Australia (includin myself) if u they are white or black and they indentified themselves as Aboriginal i'd say 99% of the time they'd tell u they were black regardless of skin tone...

I don't know if you're up to date on your Australian history mate but I think a historic horror experience grudge match between aborignines v black americans would be difficult to call. Aborigines were legally and systematically hunted down and killed until 99% of their population was gone, hell they weren't even officially considered human by our government until 1967.

Then why not just claim your aboriginal heritage? Just like Omar Shariff surely claims his Indian heritage, Inuits claim their eskimo heritage and Indonesians claim their asian/indinesian heritage? They don't say they are black! Even if they are more black than you and Mundine.

Why 'black'? Black is a colour and if you are not that colour it just doesn't make any sense. Alternatively 'black' is a ethnicity-concept tied to people of black african heritage. IF you are neither, then I think calling yourself 'aboriginal' is right.

But of course, if you don't really care about your aboriginal heritage, but just want to appear 'cool' in a rapper-sense ... well, then I guess you can call yourself 'black'.

Being black as opposed to white Australians is obviously a key componant of their ethnic identity. Originally it was completely unrelated to the black african heritage based ethnic concept you are talking about, although now it is somewhat related. There is not just one singular ethnic concept of black, although the african heritage one is definately the dominant one.

This thread sucks. More white Aussies questioning the Aboriginality of Mundine and Rico Spadafora being... Rico Spadafora, and therefore a dumb ****.

**** you Rico Spadafora, you ****!

I see what your sayin but the thing is there isn't many African American's here...

why do African americans not claim African heritage?? why are they the black ones???

In Australia the black people are the Aboriginals or anyone else with black skin for that matter but generally most people here if u asked someone about Aboriginal people they would say black.. Sure there is some lighter skinned Aboriginal people but on the greater scale in Austrlia people refer to Aboriginal people as black.....

Anthony Mundine is Australian and in Australia Australian people refer to Aboriginals as black hence why Anthony refers to himself as Black.....

Note: i typed that quickly as im at work and shouldn't be on ESB.. sorry if it waffles on a bit
