im open to that, im still debating myself on that. Infact, i made a thread before the diaz-jmm fight on who would get the nod on extremely close rounds...JMM or the hometown guy in juan diaz...

So why didn't you even mention the "should be 10-7" round for Pacquiao in round 3?

Because you root for Marquez, that's why.

    There's nothing wrong with that.

But everyone here should take what you say with a grain of salt when it comes to Marquez and anything remotely related to him, including all his past opponents.

no. i didn't say that even rounds should always go to the hometown fighter. but i will not call it an outright dishonest, that's what i was pointing out.

Why the hell should anyone mention that, especially in this particular thread where that is irrelevant.

For the record, I did'nt think that was a knockdown....I've discussed it in detail in threads where the topic was related exactly to that.....

.....and even if a judge felt it was a knockdown, they cannot take it upon themselves to call it a knockdown if the referee did'nt rule it as such.

....and if posters here want to take what I say with a grain of salt, thats for them to decide. I dont have a problem with that, I just keep posting my honest felt opinions.

Posted by a ******* in Youtube. Just want to share it with you:

There are certain things in life that we can't change:
    1- Pacman Beat JMM
2- JMM is a good fighter but a very BAD loser.
3- JMM is no longer in Pacman's league.
4- If they fight again, Pacman would KILL JMM
5- There are not a lot of good Mexican fighters like before because US improved the border patrols.
6- If we put Pacman to guard the Mexican border then illegal immigration would go down 80%
JMM should quit B4 he fights one too many fights and loses his rep like Oscar did. JMM IS OLD!

I can't understand why drawn rounds are so frowned upon. Not scoring a level round a drawn one produces the ridiculous final scores we see so often. A good example was Taylor Froch fight where there was an eight point difference between two judges

    Why not score 10-10 rounds?

I have also scored a round in which a fighter was knocked down 9-9 - forgotten what fight and round it was, but one guy won the round easily but was caught off balance and flash KD.

I score plenty of 10-8 rounds as well.

    Lewis Holyfield I Rd 5 was 10-8
Mayweather Hatton Rd 8 was 10-8
Collazo Hatton Rd 12 was 10-8

    and so on.

I think the scoring rules mandate no drawn rounds. Somebody has to get a 10.
Judges would look who is the aggressive fighter or who's hitting strongly. or the guy who had a good finish in that round.

  10. If a round is close then it should be 10-10. If there are 6 close rounds in a fight then they should all be scored 10-10. Judges are afraid to score rounds 10-10 and they feel obliged to score them 10-9 either way. How is this correct? A fighter could lose a fight because a judge felt he had to score a round 10-9.

I hate that we don't have more 10-10 rounds. If both fighters perform with the same level of effectiveness, then it should be scored accordingly. Always trying to give a 10-9 results in unfair scorecards. If sanctioning bodies want honest judges then they should regulate them properly, not compel them to find a winner if there is none.

I always enjoy reading posts about Kessler-Calzaghe where everyone thinks Kessler won 4 rounds but no one agrees on which (most british newspapers had in 7-5 and even they disagree on who won which round).

I didn't even bother to read JMM-Pacman and RM-IV III threads. It could go on forever.

    JUST SCORE EVEN ROUNDS ALREADY!

...or just return to 15 rounders so you get fewer draws

i guess in only title and sanctioned fights are judges are refrained from scoring even rounds
