Geale is a step up for Mundine.....and Mundine won....the best you can do is bring up a fight from 6 years ago :patsch

well I think your flat out hater, which I can understand, mundine has a very good career in my book a lot better than I could have imanged when he was talking to the press in may 2000 that he was becoming a fighter. But the next 2 year will let if he become a great fighter in the history of Australian boxing.

    'a step up'....hehehehe:yep

geale is no siaca, kessler, or ottke. mundine is going backwards. cant you see that? when he fights a world class, top 3 middle, he gets KTFO.

if he would have taken the risk and fought at middle 4 years ago, and fought the best, he may have won. but he hesitated "he who hesitates is lost", and mundine let time go by. it too late. he is slipping.

How can anyone not see that Mundine has declined?

I don't want to bag out Geale here, but for Mundine to sneak a SD win against him, and for him to actually open up and not get on his bike, well, if thats not the writing on the wall, then I don't know what is.

Against Siaca, he can easily be accused of simply not giving it his all, and even though it was a cowardly loss. It still should have left some hope for his fans that had he have given it a go, it would have been a different story.

This wasn't the case against Geale, and Geale is nowhere near the elite level that people want to see Mundine being associated with.

Im impressed and proud of what Mundine has done..its still very remarkable and he continues to be a world class athlete.

But the fact is he thinks and most importantly says he is the best at whatever he does...he hasnt even came close in boxing...and really wasnt in league either, even if you think he was close..what kind of achievement is that really considering the following and talent pool league has compared to other similar sports.

He even has the nerve to compare himself to Don Bradman...who even if you look past the nostalgia and his legendary status is statistically one of the greatest sportsman whoever lived of any sport..When he has even come close to what that man achieved?

Should he just get a free pass just because oh well it's Anthony Mundine...if he doesnt live up to the huge raps he has on himself and his fans seem to thing he deserves..then he should be rightly lampooned.

Pretty much agree with that..Dan isnt really world class..He may scrap for this division because it is weak..but mark my words Daniel Geale will be knocked out by someone in the not to distant future...and its quite possibly that someone might not be all that good.

When Mundine started boxing who thought he would win an aussie title....and what about becoming vacant and regular world champ?

Mundine is top 4 in the world in 2 divisions.....thats better than I expected.

All the "I am the best" is about marketing and bums on seats.

The bums on seats argument is one I just don't buy.

Fenech and Tszyu never had to resort to it and did fairly well as I remember.

    So what is it Leon?

Do you think Mundine thinks he is the best ever?

I dont think Mundine thinks that....he knows there is cash in polarizing the punters

Some people will always do well appealing to the lowest possible denominator.

Its why Dariusz Michalczewski will never be known as a great Light Heavyweight champ.

Fighters legacies are built on results and opposition, not ppv revenue and media coverage.
