You don't know what you're doing. You don't need a ****ing trainer to practice the absolute basics, yet you ignore them and instead hit on the heavy bag like that? Don't be thick. You're not ****ing listening at all, if you were you'd be working on fundamentals.

Good luck buddy. Right now you should be worried about surviving your first fight, imagining yourself as a future pro is a bit daft. As soon as you get in the ring you will have an absolute awakening, you're going to be beaten around the ring. Work on the fundamentals now or you'll be beaten out of this sport. I'm not trying to be a dick, but you're going to learn either now or in the ring. You don't want to learn in the ring, I did and it sucks.

Your pivoting the right foot/hip, stepping in with the jab, and circling the bag somewhat which is all good. You keep your hands high, also good.

BUT! you let your hands fall after throwing a punch, your elbows are out in the air, and you insist on being speedy Gonzales. Like most people have said SLOW DOWN! practice your technique, with proper technique comes speed.

Tuck your elbows in more and bring your punches back after throwing a punch.

Just practice the 1 - 2 before trying to add hooks.

    You've improved though

You need someone to show you the proper technique. It can't be learnt any other way in my opinion. You must at the very, very least go to a club and get someone to help you. You will learn loads of bad habits if you continue this way .

All boxing is done from the toe i.e. swivel on your lead left foot when throwing a left hook. Keep your ass in the middle. Don't over reach. Power is generated from the transfer of body weight i.e. stepping in with a shot and twisting your hips (importance of the toe).

I've been boxing for 2-3 years and only now after training with a top, top trainer would I say I know how to punch correctly and consistently.

Even then, in sparring it can be a different story.

You're not ready to spar yet. I would spend more time shadow boxing in front of a mirror.

    And like everyone says....slow down!

Good luck to ya. Everyone likes some enthusiastic and its no shame to be a beginner.

Dude i love your enthusiasm but that was a hot mess. Alot of fundamental flaws there already pointed out by most of posters here. The one thing that was very apparent for me is a lack of method or style to what your trying to do. You're simply punching a bag. Your not working on anything IE Jab, Combinations, Movement etc. If you're keen on being an am get to a gym and get a trainer. Banging a bag in your garden to be frank means nothing.

Giving advice on how to improve is better than the criticism you gave him
He doesnt have to listen to me your right, Its just my opinion. . Just like he doesnt have to listen to anyone else, its their opinion.

Pac doesnt have to listen to Roach does he? Nope, but if he wants to improve he takes the criticism and advice and works with it.

So be positive or don't post your bull ish comments, if you want to help give advice instead of saying "its a hot mess". Idiot

I try to listen to everyone, but it's a lot of information to take in, so I just try to take it one step at a time, I'll be working on footwork and mixing up the shots and getting technique down when I go back to doing shadowboxing and heavybag work this weekend.

    Ok stupid heres my post
Anything supremely negative about that? Or are you always this sensitive around full moon?

And further more Pac is a professional boxer. Boxing Wizard is not. Pray tell where do you find a comparison between a professional fighter with a professional trainer and a guy beating on a bag in his garden? The guy needs a trainer point blank point simple. He knows that.

Wizard - whilst mixing up shots is very important for a fighter, you are no where near ready to be including this in your training yet. Work on one thing at a time, starting with the very basics. Break it down as follows:

    Get your stance sorted out
Sort your footwork out w/o throwing punches

Once you have these two down, you are ready to throw punches.

Start with jabs - by doing this, you will get an idea of range (you are very weak in this area at present). Jab and move, you can move left, right, backwards, wherever but make sure that you have returned to your 'default' stance before throwing another jab.

Once you are comfortable with this, add in a straight right. We use this progression after the jab so you don't have to worry about changing your range - you will still be fighting at long range if you understand my meaning. Same as with the jab, throw a 1-2 and move, set yourself and throw a 1-1-2 and move, throw a 1-2 pause 2-1-2 etc. There are several combinations that you can put together with these two punches.

Don't even consider hooks or anything yet.

Once you have done the above, post another video on here. I, or some other guys on here will give you feedback, and pick out any bad habits and tell you how to rectify them before you move on to the more technical punches. As many have said before, if you devlop bad habits, you can bet that you will have them for the rest of your life unless you work closely with a good trainer.

1 more thing, and I know it has been said before. Slow down, perform the above instructions slow and steady.

LOL in any aspect of life you need to take constructive criticism and advice in order to prevail and further develop yourself in whatever thing it is your doing, Using PAC was just an example.

Are you stupid? I tell him to ignore the negative comments people are making and you come at me with "he doesn't need to listen to you".

ANYWAYS no one ever said he didnt need a trainer but if you would take the time to read his posts he has already stated he does not have access to one, which is why he is referring to this boxing forum for advice, which everyone has obliged to give; Including me. I'm not Freddie Roach, nor am I a regular trainer for that matter, but what I do know I will try to help him with and instill him with the limited knowledge I have.

So take your comments and stfu =] no longer responding because that will just diminish the purpose of BoxingWizards thread.
