to say i know **** all about boxing because i am not a boxer or a trainer is slagging of 95% of people on this forum.

When i had my argument with Willie a long time ago now he promised us all he would NOT claim he was a world champion. Pretty much everyone including myself said they were fine with him fighting for the WBU if he fought a decent opponent and did not claim to be a world champion.

Willie did both. This is why I have brought it up again, I am not going to let him get away with it. Any British fighter that fights for the WBU will get the same treatment from me no matter who they are.

The sad thing is Willie is a decent fighter who deserves better. Billy you can say he is avoided, Lee McAlister claimed he offered Limmond 25k to fight him. I put this on the site and Billy you said you would speak to willie and let us know his response..................we have yet to hear a response.

There no technicality about it. Limmond is not a world champion! His belt mean as much as a swiming badge. Theres no mandatories, you can fight anyone from any weight as a defence.

He is the WBU world champion. End of. Your issues with the belt and the governing bodies mandatory requirements are opinions. But the WBU have crowned Willie as their 'World' Champion. whether you choose to recognise him as such is up to you.

Do you not understand that the WBA, WBC, IBF and WBO are bad enough, even considering calling him a world champion a joke. No wonder boxing is going down the toilet.

These titles kill boxing. I'm sure Willie is doing what's best for his family but I don't know why everyone expects us to support him. If you were making a list of what's wrong with boxing then sanctioning bodies would top everybodys lists so I don't know why everyone is getting upset with someone criticising him for it. The entire Brit forum took the **** out of Lee McAllister when he said he was a 2 weight world champion but because Willie's a member it's out of order to criticise him.

I don't call any of them world champion unless they're clearly the number one of the division. I refer to holders of the big three as titleholders and the rest I simply ignore.

What's the big deal? Everyone knows he's not a world champion. It's just to raise his profile with the general public.

I have no hope of making a dent in any of these organisations. They take no notice of me.

But Willie Limmond did. It never changed his mind but he heard my thoughts, and there's plenty of pro boxers and prospects that do come on this forum.

Lets take Tony Bellew. It would not be unthinkable for in a years time Warren offers him WBU swimming badge fight. If he comes on here and sees the fans kissing Willie Limmond's arse for winning the WBU title, or even nobody having a problem with it theres a bigger chance of him taking the fight.

If he comes on here and see's everyone slagging the WBU off and not getting behind Limmonds win then theres a better chance of him having some dignity and respect for Boxing and not fighting for the WBU bull****.

Theres no doubt in my mind if everyone has reacted like me, or the way they did agaisnt Lee McAlister when Willie came on this forum to discuss the WBU, that he would of decided agaisnt fighting for the belt.

There are allot of boxers reading this site not jsut those that our active members. The fans of these forums are the voice of boxing, and letting Willie get away with something that damages boxing just because he is a nice guy is wrong.

It's bollocks. Neither Limond or Barrett are even 'A' grade domestic level fighters. I've nothing against either, I find them both entertaining, but the idea of Limond being a Lightweight world champion is just bizarre. It's not even funny, it's sad.

The guy that picked up the Mirror today and saw the article about Limmond winning a world title, and he will think to himself "hang on, Limmond the guy that lost to Khan, agaisnt the guy that got knocked out by Khan in 1 round for a world title, boxing must be really really crap these days"

this was the opinion of everyone on the forum, until Limmond logged in, and they all started treating him like Sugar Ray Robinson
