**** Chageav.. **** him for pulling out of or ruining how many fights now?

The division is better without him.

So you're bashing a chronically ill fighter, who's sick likely through no fault of his own? And you're blaming a fighter for wanting to fullfil his own career goals, despite his disability? Real classy there buddy.

If anything you should lay blame on the institutions which have allowed him to enter/participate in the sport with an infectious, potentially lethal virus.

It's very likely Chagaev has had Hep B since young age.

The Finnish medical decission was the right decission. You can always immunize Valuev, but you can't guarantee the safety of everyone else in the immediate vicinity of the rink, including the ref, the judges and the spectators.

I read that Chagaev was supposedly acting a bit odd in the press meeting a few days ago.

He is done, now. Has to be.

Who would get their hopes and anticipatoin up to see another of his buildups to a fight, only to see it called off, again...........when he's a power-lacking, unexciting fighter, anyway?

Get someone OTHER than Ruiz in there to fight Valuev, and do it as soon as possible. I can't believe that Meehan, NOR Brewster could be put in there and the show went on. What was the reasoning, there...........?

Brewster would probably have given Valuev a great fight, if not beaten him......... I wonder why him and Meehan, both, didn't take this opportunity, or if they wanted to, and couldn't..........? IF they were offered it, I would have thought either would have taken the chance......

Its not like Valuev is Ali or Tyson.

If he has Hep B then the questions:
    1) Is he a carrier --- if yes --- then no fight.
    2) Does he have antibodies which prevent him from being a carrier, If this is the case --- then yes fight.

    This is pretty simple.

Time for Ruslan to hang it up. Maybe he can fight Tommy Morrison. Valuev vs Lamon Brewster is far more interesting anyway but please, please not Kali Meehan :rofl

My friend it is NOT that simple. For us who sit behind a PC it is simple .
But the others will go on a ring with possible bleedings...

I think these guys are both beyond terrible but this just brings us back to 6 months ago again in this whole wba heavyweight scandal to keep the belt away from unification and continue the farce of fighting nobodies in europe. ****ing ridiculous.

Valuev could've at least fought a replacement fighter, they were available it seems.

The whole WBA heavyweight situation is embarassing to the sport.

It consists of a Valuev-Chagaev-Ruiz round robin mixed w/ cancellations.

The whole situation is sorry :-(

This reaks of a farce, and while it may not be, I'm not entirely surprised. In one way shape or another, both Nikolay Valuev and Ruslan Chagaev have managed to avoid fighting notworthy opponents, while barely winning split and majority decisions over second and third raters. Christ, I still can't believe that Valuev fought a 46 year old Holyfield, and am equally bewildered that he was awarded the decision for that matter. Chagaev has had problem after problem that has kept him from being a defending champion... It would seem as though the fight did not generate enough interest for either man ( nor their promotors ) to get a big enough purse, therefore, they have been put on freeze until a bigger payday can come along... This is all pure speculation of course, but the winner of Klitschko-Haye should tell us a few things in the aftermath.. Be interesting to see who the victor of that bout choses to face first......

    LOL.

Sadly, there'll always be a commission that will sanction your fights somewhere. You could be half-blind or half-dead, and someone somewhere will give you a license.

I am afraid it is that simple.
If he has the antibodies in his system --- then he is absolutely not infectious.
Firefighters and medical persons and others can get vacinated so that they have these antibodies to prevent them from getting Hep B should they come in contact with infectious persons.
These antibodies are a good thing.
Now --- if they cancelled the show when test results show that he is not a carrier, then Chaqaev has a good sound argument for a successful lawsuit.
He will most likely win if he choses to go that route.
    A contract is a contract.
To break that contract, persons must have solid grounds.
    This will be interestring.
