Alvarado got injured in sparring. Juan Diaz is a possible replacement.

Juan Diaz at 140? He'd be a little pig at that weight. He's already chubby at lightweight. Hopefully he doesn't have a cracked jaw after the Marquez beating, he's a great fighter.

I don't see Diaz taking this fight on a Top Rank PPV.

He has the choice of headlining a BAD card or fighting on the FMJ-JMM undercard. More exposure and possibly $$ on those cards.

I see no chance of Juan Diaz fighting Mailinaggi.

Diaz's team turned down to fight Guzman on the PBF/JMM card, why would he accept to fight Malinaggi on the JML/Bum card?

Nah Id rather watch Ortiz vs Diaz!!! That would be a war while it lasted. Diaz is kinda chubby though and at 140 on short notice he would probably be the next Arreola. I really wanted to see Alvarado get his chance though hes a real prospect and a future champ.

Either that or a serious elbow injury.

On one hand, Juan Diaz is always a welcome addition to any card. On the other hand? I think this was the perfect test for Alvarado. Sucks that we won't get to see it happen.

Someone made a good point about Juan Diaz being GBP based. I doubt Arum would bring in a guy like Juan Diaz for what isn't even the top undercard bout. I think DAVID Diaz is more likely in all honesty.

David is supposedly in talks for a Barrios fight so I doubt it.
