    yep....:yep

good to see anthony has done his research...:-(

said with a serious face. so is he a liar? or a coward? (if its true, he doesnt back it up cause he doesnt fight the best)

mundine said he wants to secure the pavlik bout in the next couple of weeks. if not, he will look for another domestic fight...green was mentioned as was geale. anthony didnt seem to want to fight geale again.....

also discussed was "a problem" for mundine fighting in the states. nothing was mentioned as to what sort of problem, although it was stated that he wouldnt be the boss of the promotion and would be at the mercy of the yanks......welcome to the real boxing world anthony. seems khoder is going to start to earn his money. i bet he asks a lot of questions of other aussie promotor/managers in the next few weeks.......I HOPE THEY CHARGE HIM CONSULTANCY FEES.....

Tony Pavlik is probably Kelly's dad, so I wouldn't assume that Mundine is off on this one.

    Tony Pavlik :lol::lol:

    **** poor interview once again.

He's already got the excuse for Pavlik, saying if he can't make the fight in the next few weeks then he will look for other options.

He's not improving, not even a smidgin when it comes to opening his mouth and constructing a half decent sentence.

Completely Shithouse and Crap interview from Channel 9. Just the usual Groundhog Day questions being asked about Green, . . . etc. Really wanna know what these supposed "issues" there are with Mundine not being able to go over the states. Could this be related to the 911 comments he made a few years ago? Surely not.

I got the impression from the interview that he really didn't believe a Pavlik fight was gonna happen. As usual spoke about the domestic scene as backup.

In reality we all know Mundine ain't going anywhere outside Australia. He's been talking about going to the states for about 3 years now. Wouldn't surprise me if Mundine fights Jamie Pittman next. Bika is an absolute beast and too much of a risk, other than that he'll probably defend against another Euro-bum.

I said about 6 months ago, I'd be happy to put good money that Mundine would not fight any of the 3 legit champs within the next 12 months and will stand by this.

Funny how he mentions Pavlik, considering he's the WBA #1 mandatory for Sturm. Forget all this BS talk and rumors, I won't believe an o/s fight until he's actually in a ring with a legitimate champion.

He said he'll look for another opponent if he can't secure the Pavlik bout within 2-3 weeks, didn't say a 'domestic fight' specifically.

Before this stage of the interview, he stated he wants to defend his title.

He's got a reasonable chance of getting a Pavlik bout in September given Pavlik isn't fighting Mora. In terms of Sturm, he'd have to wait till at least October given Sturm is fighting Gevor on July 11.

If he doesn't fight Pavlik, I hope he defends his IBO title on a Golden Boy undercard, that would be a wise move.

Why would Pavlik fight Mundine? Mundine though could do well against him I think in a styles sense, he could also be knocked out in two rounds as well. Mundine is going no where if he was going to he would have after the Green fight. He stepped up a couple of times and came unstuck he won't make the same mistake again.

I dunno what these 'problems' are about him fighting in the US - they may or may not be related to his stupid comments about 9/11 - but I said this way back when he first said them - that he said them on purpose so he would have an excuse for never fighting in the US. He knows he's a big fish in a little pond in Australia - he also knows that he would just be another guppy over in the US.

Anyway, surely he would have learnt of any such problems when he was the guest of honour at that 5-course dinner he had with Oscar de la Hoya last year?

He's full of **** - not a week after saying the Geale fight would be his last in Australia he's now saying he may not fight overseas.

From what I read in yesterday's paper he may well have to rematch Geale :hey

He will rematch Geale no doubt about it. There's no way in hell he fight a legit champion after the trouble he had with Geale. Abraham & Pavlik are way too strong for him & Sturm is a better fighter thast he can't outbox especially in Germany.

Agreed, and that's gotta be what was alluded to in the interview. It was a stupid thing to say at the time and no smarter now in hindsight.

Reckon KEL, SALLY and others have summerised this one pretty well - Mundine aint goin' nowhere!

    Standby for more 'tune-up' fights!
