Actually Cintron wasn't too bad. It got worse in the later rounds but more or less was tolerable. Berto's **** was awful. I changed the channel after round 2.

 

Clinching and running was never the intention of whoever started this sport a centuries ago.

 

i agree but it's been a long tradition. ali-frazier 3 for instance, ali would be penalized in today's day and age for holding behind the held. jersey joe held quite a bit against bigger fighters like marciano. i hate it but it's been going on a long time and it's hard to take it out of the game

 

Well if Ref's were to deduct points for holding like they should, then maybe we wouldn't have this problem.

 

Many call it skills whereas if a fighter gives the fans a real fight, he is one dimensional.

 

absolutely. it takes away from the game and it's eliminated in-fighting from many repetoires. why learn to hook and work the body when you can jab jab grab

exactly, i'll rag on the guy for certain things but he was a ****ing warrior to the end and wouldn't dream of holding or pussying out of a fight. he's got my respect for that. too many fighters have gotten soft and look for the easy way out of tough fights . in fighting is a science, hugging isn't

 

Berto was not clinching, he was holding, which is illegal.
