it was obvious there was serious problems between hatton and mayweather on the night, you could see by the body language, lack of eye contact and barely talking before (when mayweather eventually turned up) and during the fight.

that's not an excuse that's the way it is, but pac still beats hatton, they're a different class (pac is very special), and hatton has now lost his punch resistance and should retire.

 

A father's instinct will be for one to always search for reasons why his boy lost other than reasons attibutable to his son. The normal course for the father is to allow his son to fight again and perhaps validate what he wanted to believe is true. Ray Hatton is such a hopeful father, he's still hoping his son will rise from the ashes of this defeat.

 

I belive that Hatton could not have beaten Pac on his best day. But the fact some people seem to think a bad trainig camp makes no odds to the fighter are full of ****. Floyd snr should be ashamed of his performance which on reflection was worst than Hattons performance against Pac.

 

With all these excuses coming out, looks like Hatton is not going to retire

u hatton nuthuggers have forgotten that Hatton is far too big and powerful for Pac. Hatton is a beast at 140lbs and have never been beaten and will smash Pac's midget glass body! Little Pac has never taken the full force of a mighty 140 monster like Hatton lol hahaha!

To be fair to Hatton he tried his best, got a few body shots, rabbit punching and wrestling in the first round and once he realised he couldn't hurt Pac he was like, oh ****! He tried the same **** in the second Round and then got sparked again because he has no other game. Same old Ricky Hatton just like he always fought. Except when you step up to a top fighter like Pac on a big stage you can't get away with the same crap without pissing the ref off.

 

I think all the rumours about the Hatton camp are over the top. I think Lee Beard is an honest guy, unlike Ray Hatton.

 

The excuse i have for hatton is this: If hatton would of fought tyzu with a diffrent ref, maybe a nady, he would of had his first KO loss years ago, an the fans would be back down to earth by now, but instead he used that crooked ****ing ref parris, an he was able to get the win.

 

You forgot the blatent elbow Hatton used in round 2 as well ......

Hatton is light welterweight. 140lbs(likely a few pounds north of 140lbs pre fight)

He had trouble fighting Collazo at 147lbs and was stopped by Mayweather at 147lbs.
So it was a stupid idea by his trainers to spar with a 154lb+ fighter a week before fighting Pacquiao.

I remember reading something from Billy Graham saying that for the Lazcano fight, Hatton was only was only sparring with lighter fighters and wasn't even making a dent in them (because of illness apparently, Graham wanted to pull him out of the fight but Team Hatton wouldn't allow it). Graham said he could tell Hatton was diminishing so only wanted the Malignaggi fight after that because Malignaggi was an easy fight and pretty much tailor-made for Hatton.
