Looks like one of the Georges is set to make his pro debut at Heavyweight. http://www.boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=498261&cat=boxer http://www.eastsideboxing.com/news.php?p=19996&more=1 6 foot 5, nicknamed monk. Worth keeping an eye on.
Maybe we can revive Joe Frazier's son, Marvis, to fight him on his debut fight. At 26, he's just too old to start his pro career. http://www.boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=519&cat=boxer
I thought George Foreman III alias "Monk" was his Dads Business Manager. Lennox Lewis was 24 when he turned pro after the olympics and he had a distinguished Amateur career. I think this is very strange indeed.
Age and lack of an amateur career make it unlikely that he'll reach the top level, but it will be interesting to watch, whatever happens. Nine times out of ten these "boxing offspring" don't amount to much, but maybe he'll be an exception.
Aw well, he'll probably fight 15-20 tomatoe cans befroe he fights anyone decent seeing as hes not had an amateur career.
he also was a great amateur and in the 84 and 88 Olympics.....winning gold in 88. so theres a huge difference in both being in mid 20s
What's funny? In any sport, it's generally ideal that you start one's pro career at young age. Tennis, swimming, basketball, etc. In boxing, Tyson was champ at 10, Pac at 18, etc. etc. IMO, starting at 26 is too old already.
