Jose Sulaiman - WBC President - says judges cannot score a fight a draw before fight

    What a total clown this Jose Sulaiman is.................

    But in 1983 there was a fighter called Colin Jones who came from the gym behind my house here in Wales, UK.

    He worked his way up for a world title shot.

    Finally he got himself a crack at the WBC World Welterweight Title.

    He was set to fight Amercian Milton McCory - from the Kronk Gym.

    Don King won the purse bids - so Colin Jones had to go to Las Vegas for the fight.

    After 12 tough rounds - the fight was scored a draw.

    So 5 months later they had to do it all over again.

    Colin Jones went back out to Las Vegas and had a rematch.

    Before the fight Jose Sulmain made a new rule for the fight.

    This fight is not allowed to be scored a draw - we must have a winner from the judges this time - and they were told not to score the fight a draw under no circumstances

    Ironically it was another tough close fight - and a draw would have been a fair result

    But Milton McCory got the decsion - fair enough - no complaints.

    But what the **** is Jose Sulmain doing rearranging the rules of boxing to suit himself :-(

    I can't put into words just how much I hate this fool.
    I didn't know about this but I can honestly say it didn't surprise me in the slightest - he thinks he's so important that he can do whatever he likes. If that means changing the rules of the sport on a whim, who cares eh?
    After all he's done to dishonour boxing, it's a disgrace he's in the Hall of Fame.
    The only way I could dislike this idiot more is if I found out he ****ed my girlfriend.

    If you don't want draws, change the rules so that the fights are only 11 rounds, like they do in Argentina.

    Was he the one who took Bradley's WBC belt away? Supposedly bcoz Bradley had to either give up the WBC belt or the IBO(4got w/c one) belt, since there was a (supposed?) ruling about a boxer being prohibited from holding belts from different organizational bodies at the same time. Can anyone enlighten me?

    I saw this on boxrecwiki for Ricardo Lopez vs. Rosendo Alvarez I

    - Even though accidental, WBC rules dictated that Alvarez be penalized one point because of the cut.

    wtf?

    And proclaim only 10/9 scoring for rounds? Could be a pesky knock down or point deduction..... :think

    Remember the same thing happened in Klitschko vs Gomez. An accidental headbutt caused a cut and a point was deducted. I believe it is some weird international WBC rule that is not used in the United States.
