Setanta have a month to save themselfs

I think that if Sky have got anything about them they will snap Buncey up no problem for a boxing show..... he plugs enough of the other channels... it would be a sad loss if we lost the boxing hour... :scaredas:Who knows what will happen with the other fights??? :scaredas:

 

Theres a reason why sky will not employ Bunce. Hes not a puppet like Nelson, McLory and Piper.

Hopefully they will find a home for the bunce hour and maybe Sky will pick up the Haye contract!

Didn't Buncey have a big falling out with them two or three years ago?

If so, I can't see them being too keen on giving him his own show.

I hope someone picks it up, maybe ITV will shove it on ITV4, it's not like they show any decent programmes apart from the boxing on there anyway.

 

Yeah, a late (ish) night slot on ITV4 might be a realistic way forward for that program (or its equivilent)

The thing we have to worry about is if investing heavially in boxing is one of the reasons they failed

An IT company I do some work for were told there systems were not expensive enough for setanta. Bear in mind the same system is used by ESPN in the states LOL

 

It looks like its game over for setanta, it shows that a sports subscription channel competing against Sky Sports is not viable, unless heavily subsidised for a number of years, and even then it may still not be.

Setanta was always going to make losses in its early years, its a shame it could not find the backing to support them during these years. Whether another channel will ever try to compete with Sky Sports again now is very doubtful. Sky sports have crushed all competition. The European competition commission should hang their heads in shame.

The only hope is that ITV take the remaining premiership games and the boxing from Setanta and run with it. The BBC have gave up on football and boxing.

if it does fold i will make sure those mothos will stop charging for the subscription.

 

sky are a disgrace. Their box coverage is poor. No big fights anymore and they killed off itv digital as well and had people employed to hack into their programs.

Best hope is espn merging with setanta or taking them over as competion is reqd other murdock the geek will destroy any other compnay coming on board...

 

why is it bad to read the times? there sport section is one of the best in the UK
