first of mayweather did get over 2millions buys for oscar fight but that was cos it was oscar. the reason pacman did wot he did with oscar is cos it was considered and stupid fight which only had on outcome, and with pacman being the biggest name atm and actually pullings crowds unlike mayweather who gets hatton or oscar to bring the fans.

So Floyd's fights with DLH and Hatton did well because DLH and Hatton but Pac did well against them because of Pac?

actually this is a solid point. oscar-maywether was hyped as some kind of "fight of the century". imagine the 147 and p4p champ against the 154 and box-office king? pac-oscar was labelled then "a circus" and know that oscar should really win this one easy. yet pac-oscar did half of the buys in a troubled economy.

not saying that pac should get 60-40 though because i feel that they are equally the draw here like pac-hatton.

cost of PPV in the P.I. is about 7 times the minimum daily wage in Manila.

more or less. but of course we have a different PPV rate here but still costly with the local folks standards. PPV tv is around $15-$20 and a cinema ticket is around $10-$12. minimum daily wage is around $8.

All these excuses are irrelevant, the only thing to go by is previous numbers and the numbers dont favor a 60/40 split for Pac

You have a point but not enough to satisfy the haters...lol...Well actually if im an american i will buy the PPV for businessmen special (Mayweather-DLH) than the circus fight (PAC-DLH) but turned to be not a circus fight.

Floyd was a bigger draw then Pac before DLH and Hatton. Floyd was making more then Pac fighting Gatti, Judah and Baldomir then what Pac was doing fighting Marquez and Barrera.

Are you saying that Pacquiao's fan base is limited to Filipinos in the Philippines?

you have to consider the weight they were fighting. traditionally, lower weights do not get enough PPV attention until hamed, barrera, morales and pac arrived. but not mainstream enough with the guys in the higher weights.

I can roughly estimate but I think conservatively more than 3 million paid their way watching Pac's fight shown live via satellite in cinemas all over the country. This is not to mention the PPV shown in posh hotels and restaurants in cities all over.

    Filipinos, not Philippinos, dude.
