A shitload of Americans who are NOT gonna buy the floyd/marquez fight WILL buy the floyd/pac fight. What does that tell you?

Also, consider the economy at the times they fought and definitely consider the PPV between Marquez and Floyd. THAT upcoming fight should carry a lot of weight in determining the pac/floyd split.

And much to the chagrine of Floyd's idiot fans- that fight will do nothing like the Oscar and Hatton fights Floyd had, and it will do nothing like the Oscar and Hatton fights Manny just had in a worse economy.

You would be surprised that even during these hard times, even people from the middle class can afford to buy PPV tickets in cinemas costing $15 or so. Pac is a one-in-a-lifetime fighter for the Filipinos and it will be a crime to miss his fights live. There is nothing racist in what your saying.

People save their money to see Pac's fight live. Btw, we are not yet in recession. Soon, maybe.

the guy i think is talking about america who was hit hardest by the recession. american company here in the philippines had already been affected that they are cutting benefits, allowances, overtimes and some even workdays.

if floyd fans doesn't think that the economy doesn't affect PPV buys, they were still getting their money from their allowances or doesn't have an idea how economy works.

It would hav sound better if you said Pacman should get 50/50 and this is why.. There's nothing you can say that would make sense that Pacquiao should get anything more then 50/50.. NOTHING...

50 50 is the only thing that makes any sense .

with the recession, one just invites the friend that they dont really like to the fight so the cost of it isnt so bad .

besides its a fair fight the #1 fighter vs the #1 in recess .

So since Pacquiao has a larger number of fans, he should get 60/40? Even if those fans can't afford to pay to watch the fight, thereby not generating income? Get out of here. This isn't a popularity contest, it's a dollars and cents contest, and if Pacquiao's fans can't pay to watch, they don't count for a damn thing in the big picture. That's the bottom line. It's not about being nice in the world of big business, it's about making money.

Was this thread intended to be a joke, or did it just wind up that way by accident?

Why do we have to consider the weight they were fighting at? This isn't a pound for pound discussion. Money isn't calculated on a pound for pound basis where you can say, "They were lower weights and got paid less, but pack just as much excitement as the big guys. All things equal, they would make the most money." Simply put, big ****ing deal.

It's about who can generate more money, and if Floyd is generating more money, it doesn't matter what the circumstances are, whether he's bigger or smaller or whatever ****** variable you want to inject.

That said, I say 50/50 and make the fight happen. The excuses in here to defend Pacquiao's numbers coming in under Floyd's are laughable.

it will be interesting to see what floyds next fight does against jmm if he does way more than paq man did then as much as I hate to say it floyd will have some evidence on his side. I don't think he will though bc his fight against juda was horrible numbers.

it's not even question that Floyd's the bigger draw. the numbers don't lie especially when you do good numbers against opponents with small followings like Baldomir.

60-40 for Pac coz Pac is the top dog right now
60-40 for PBF coz his PPV numbers are better
50-50 coz they're both the biggest names in boxing right now and both consider themselves #1 P4P

Any of the 3 (and anything in between) is ok with me as long as the fight gets made!

(But anything less than 60-40 for either fighter is B.S. IMO)

obviously, floyd will generate more money at higher weights compared, let say, at superfeatherweight. so weight is an issue. if floyd or pac is fighting at bantamweight and below, i'm sure they will not get attention like the way they're getting now.

But the thing is simple. the fight isnt going to happen if Pac is getting 64/40, nor do I think that it will happen if the fight is 60/40 Floyd. It has to be 50/50 to have a chance, which is slim in the first place, being that Arum and Roach keep making excuses as to why they cant fight. When they Offer Floyd a 50/50 cut and he turns it down then we can talk, but until there is an offer with numbers wtf is the point in doing 15 threads a day about this topic???
