If Marquez defeats Mayweather, where would you put him in the ATG Mexican list?

I think the only question would be if he was the best ever, or slightly behind Chavez.
I think he would certainly be above Morales, MAB, Lopez and even Sal Sanchez.

TO me, he would be the greatest Mexican fighter to ever lace them up. The greatest ****ing ever. He would definitely, i mean without a doubt surpass Salvador Sanchez who everyone loves to put on a pedestal..

He'd be above Chavez too without hesitation.

i would put him best ever if the fight is not a fluke win. he will have gone from 130 to ko the top 2 at 135 and jump 2 weights to beat a fighter of floyds calibre. i dont think any other mexican fighter could have done a comparable feat. to do this at his age would be an even greater accomplishment.

He would be #1 on my list - I think with Chavez being so revered (especially in Mexico) there might still be some who argue though.
It would unquestionably be bigger than any single victory JCC had and although Marquez has never had the kind of run on top Chavez had, his body of work will have surpassed his too.

As much of a fan that I am of Marquez I cant say that he would be above Chavez without a doubt. Chavez'z resume is pretty awesome and for me it would probably take a fourth tittle at a different weight class. You know what im thinking? Theres a interview of Khan stating he wants to fight Marquez and Pac and it got me thinking what if Khan wins his next fight and grabs the tittle? This fight would be sweet revenge for Barrera and another tittle for Marquez.:good

I have to wonder if Chavez beat Pernell convincingly would that equate to a JMM victory over Floyd?

I think not, if Marquez wins then it would be the highlight of his career by a mile. Not only is any victory over Floyd remarkable but he's would also do it while having severe disadvantages.

As much as I revered Chavez as a kid, I would painstakingly put Marquez above him SHOULD he beat Mayweather.

Difficult to say, considering he's not in my top 10 right now. I'm not exactly sure how highly the win would catapult him. I don't see this as very practical anyway. Mayweather should give him a lesson.

Hard to say. Arguably 1 and you could also argue if he would even be above Morales. Morales beat Pac & MAB(prime) as well as having a much greater body of work. JMM would just have that 1 single great win and a draw with Pac.

If he actually beats Mayweather, than inside the top 3 with Chavez and Olivares. The win would be massive.
