Is it just me...Or does Berto remind anyone eles of young Judah....

You may be onto something here. I think Berto has a promising future ahead of him but I can't help but get the vibe he was either managed to slow from the start or managed too fast at the end of his prospect stage. He looks so unrefined and not prepared for the bigger fights.

I also think his excessive clinching against Urango (REALLY excessive) makes it possible that his confidence hasn't FULLY recovered from the Collazo fight.

 

same here, but he holds alot.is not a cardio beast like they say he is either.he can go crazy on guys that cant fight him back but guys like collazo who i thought won the fight and few other guys would give berto the bussiness.his power is overrated as well if you ask me.its good but not tremendous like some would think.

 

anyone notice how taylor, judah and berto have a similar explosive style? all 3 gas out quick too.

****, yeah there are a lot of similarities. judah had far more talent but a lot of the weaknesses, notably the poor ring iq and that missing "something" , are easily seen in both. after saturday, i don't have a lot of faith in him. He never once tried to go for the kill, to prove he was great or even dominate a horribly limited opponent. doing just enough isn't going to get him anywhere

 

Boreto looked more like John Ruiz than any of the aformentioned boxers.

He seems to hate getting hit as much as Floyd and JOnes and I doubt that's going to endear him to most boxing fans.

 

He seems to have a problem fighting on the inside. Everytime the fight got in close quarters he held. Thats a part he needs to fix. Everything else was ok.

 

hell no. judah had way more raw talent than berto.

 

yea i agree he held alot but i think he more engage than anything urango was holding back at times locking his elbows or arms with berto. but i would like to believe urango rushing in with head low is why he held so much berto try to show the ref holding his arms arms out passed urango but still got the blaim. but then again there was times where he just threw some combos and hold. but at least his corner was telling he to tie up and then push out but his movement was good how he ducked or moved from urango punches. his power i too dont think its all talk about but enough to not sleep on it. i thought he was still going strong in that fight in the later rounds in my eyes.i thought berto won the callazo fight but im all for a rematch .epsecially to see if berto really improved. but i did like how berto said he got lazy felt like the fight was too easy and got lazy which he said he needs to work on and will watch the tape to see what need to be done so we will see.

and he seems to have no the best chin. i would say him and dawson are in the same boat with the judah comparison. which isn't a bad thing since judah a former lineal champ at 147.

did anyone notice berto seems to be getting a little cockier :huh it seemed like that to me during the post fight interview. not thats it's a bad thing .
