This is the last outcome id expect from a guy like Mir. BUT his confidence in his striking will be running high after his rather flattering win over Nog. Lesnar presents Mir with alot of problems. I doubt Mir will be able to get in Lesnar guard. No one has done that yet. But if Lesnar shoots and Mir pulls guard a sub could be likely if Brock leaves that leg out there again. But thats providing Lesnar hasnt ground him into to dust. Mir caught a bly in the first fight and was very close to loosing. I honestly cant see "how" he wins as although a KO isnt outside the realms of possibility its also quite a remote possibility. Getting a sub will also means he has a to eat a few from guard and thats not a good idea. As far as im concerned all the advantages and the fight itself is with Brock. Im going for Brock by TKO from the mount.
A TKO is possible if mir can get on top of lesnar when they're on the ground and start landing bombs after bombs on lesnar's face.
To be honest, I have almost as many questions about Mir's stamina as I do Lesnar's. 11, out of 15, of Mir's fights have ended in the first round. Only once had Mir been past the 2nd. I do think that Lesnar looked in danger of gassing against Couture. Fatigue puts anyone in mma at risk of stoppage.
Well I don't think Mir's standup is overrated. When you look at it alot of people said things like: The only reason Mir's standup looked so good is because NOG was washed up. Same thing with Lesnar. Alot of people are hyping him up as a knockout artist now:roll: I agree I don't see Mir knocking Lesnar out either(but if he does I'll celebrate like it's my birthday) But however I think Mir can hang with Lesnar more on the feet than Lesnar can hang with Mir on the ground.
anything is possible in mma everybody knows that,i cant wait for ufc 100 it has great fights on the whole card, but as for lesnar mir 2 im going to go lesnar by tko in less than 3 minutes into the 1st.....
mir should have lost the first fight in less than a minute but the stupid ref stood them up for one hit to the back of the head with out a warning...how fair is that if it was anybody else they would have gotten a warning, mir turned into it any how it wasnt done on purpose, mir wont be so lucky this time he wont have that **** head mazzagati as the ref this fight to save his ass from brocks ground and pound
I think Mir's improved striking with bother Lesnar to start with. But Mir also has to watch out for Lesnar's punches, not much snap but loads of power. And that sneeky jab elbow that Lesnar threw against Couture rocked him and nearly dropped him. I think Lesnar will want to keep it standing to start with, try and rock Mir then G'n'P. Mir will also like to keep it standing, see if he can out strike Lesnar. Then hope Lesnar gets discouraged and takes him down. Then Mir will try for many subs. But i see Mir take lots of punishment before winning or Lesnar not taking much before a G'n'P TKO. Just my opinion :good
Brocks ground & pound?:blood Those were the bitchiest hammer fists I've ever seen in my life. He was hardly landing anything. Don't you think if he was really doing damage he would have stunned Mir more? Secondly, the reason Brock wasn't given a warning is because he was throwing multiple shots, he didn't just throw one. If he threw one that's a warning, but he didn't. And Mir is better now than he was then, and he's gonna catch Brocks ***** ass again.
I don't see it that way at all. How do you figure Lesnar has as much of a chance to armbar Mir as the other way around? Have we ever seen Lesnar even try a submission? Mir has subbed as many guys as any other heavy around and looks for it above everything else. Lesnar looks for the "hulk smash" positions and as far as I can tell, he doesn't look for anything else. Maybe Mir's striking only looked as good as it did because Nog is shot, and I don't expect Mir to look as good anyway because he'll be worried about Lesnar shooting on him. Still, it looks like his training with Hahn (sp?) has made him combos really sharp, and I wouldn't be surprised at all if he catches Lesnar with one of them and stopping him, especially if Lesnar is gassed. I could see Lesnar winning by knockout as well, just because he's so big. But really, the strategy for this fight is interesting. I could see Lesnar wanting it on the ground so he doesn't get beat up like Nog did or him keeping it standing so he doesn't get subbed. I can see Mir wanting to stay off the ground so he doesn't get cave manned, or him wanting to try to sub Lesnar. This will be fun to watch, but I wouldn't bet that the first guy tired loses.
well i agree mir is better than he was in the first fight but so is brock, but we will see who is right at ufc 100 and if i was wrong i will put up mir as my avatar if i can find out how,but i doubt it will happen
I hope Mir kicks his ass. I can't stand Lesnar. Everything he has right now was given to him. He didn't work for it. He had the nerve to say Mir's title is fake. Well if Mir's title is fake then Lesnar's is paper. He didn't fight his way up, the title was given to him. He beat Heath Herring(who hasn't) by dry humping him for 3 rounds. Sure that was a monstar right hand he caught him with early on, but what happened after? A snooze fest. Lesnar is overrated. He doesn't know how to finish a fight, his problem is, Mir does:hey
i do think lenars title shot was premature his 3rd fight in the ufc,but so was silva (2nd fight in ufc, even though he already had alot of fights but it was still a bit early)and lesnar does know how to finish just watch the couture fight
