I think we all know who would win this, that much is clear, but I am curious as to how you guys view this fight playing out. Hipp was a tough sonnuvabitch, but lacked the conditioning and overall skill to be a champ. Still, I think he could have given a good fight vs. Comeback George. They were supposed to fight at one point, but Foreman refused. Hipp regrets not being able to fight him to this day. So how about it fellas, how does a fight between these two play out?

I'm from Washington and I'm a huge Foreman fan, so I'll give it a go. I think that George keeps Joe at bay with his jab early on, looking to land an uppercut. Joe's eyes start swelling during the ring entrance.

By the 2nd round Joe figures out how to get on the inside a little bit and use his considerable bulk to stay there without getting tied up and lands some decent hooks to Foreman's head.

Meanwhile George is making Joe's eyes swell to the point that he can't see by the 4th round or so and really starts to land some nasty shots. By the 7th round Joe is getting rocked pretty badly but refuses to go down and the fight is stopped by the ref.

Unless of course it's Frank Cappucino that's the ref (one of my favorites) and then poor Joe get's TKO'd in the tenth.

It would go eight-nine rounds, with it being fairly competitive for the first few stanzas, but George lands more often. Hipp takes alot, but can give some too. But those moments come too far inbetween, and Hipp is stopped.

I live in Orting. I know it sounds incredibly cosmopolitan! I like the view of Mt. Rainier though.

On a serious note, I don't see this fight amounting to much. I think comeback Foreman does a pretty good number on Joe Hipp.

This fight was actually set a couple of times. Hipp would have been tough for George but Foreman would have won this on his heavy jab believe it or not. A decision.
I thought that Hipp would have had a chance against Tyson because he had no fear and had a great uppercut from the southpaw stance.

Hipp gave hell to almost everyone he fought through sheer grit and guts.

But he had the worst issue with swelling as any fighter I've ever seen. I don't know what the hell it was. Maybe because he was native american? No idea.

Anyway, that Foreman jab busts him up, more then likely to a stoppage.

Could Crawford Grimsely defeat Joe Hipp? Could the Foreman that fought Crawford Grimsley beat the Joe Hipp that almost defeated Seldon for the title? Maybe.... Hipp could box a little, certainly as much as Tommy Morrison and more than Crawford Grimsley...
