This is the internet. Not the USA. 80% of the people reading this probablly don't have a clue who Eli and Peyton Manning are. And those that do, are probablly thinking that American Football usually doesn't involve two men standing in a ring and hitting each other in the face.

As RUSKULL said, its not a great situation having the top two heavweights never being able to fight other (hence why we should all be very happy when Haye KO's Wlad in 17 days time), but thats how it is. I can't really argue with two brothers not wanting to fight each other. It's just a sport at the end of the day. There are more important things in life.

We are at a unique moment in history -- two brothers are #1 and 2. They won't fight each other. I accept it, I understand it, I respect it, I don't want to see them fight each other. I'm not a Roman emperor who needs to see blood, death and heartache to be entertained. Boxing's enough.

Also, it took these two brothers to unify the titles as much as they are today. For going on eight years, we had to suffer with four titleists who would never fight each other. The John Ruizs and Chris Byrds of the world. That was the worst! Huge credit goes to Wlad and Vitali for finally clearing up most of that picture (WBA notwithstanding) and creating a once-in-a-lifetime situation. Max and Buddy Baer were both fighters in the same division but not ranked #1 and 2. If they had been, nobody would've expected them to fight. It's ridiculous. Boxing is not football.

Ideally Vitali could fight Valuev and annex that belt before retiring, then Wlad does the true unification of all 4 belts, or both brothers retire at the same time and whoever the remaining #1 and 2 are can fight to unify the 4 belts. That would be an extremely satisfying scenario. And we'd look back on the Klit's as the guys who created history by unifying the splintered titles into one family for the first and only time in boxing history, and setting the stage for the return of an eventual single unified heavyweight champion.

    It ain't bad.

    No.

It would be a poor fight. They get along too well.

Yes. I think they will fight one day for charity in a controlled sparring session. This will be nothing new as the two go though the motions in the ring together in the gym.

One interesting dynamic is when Wlad fights, Vitali is a very vocal corner man. Sometimes he says things differ a bot from what Steward is saying.

When Vitali fights, Wlad really doesn't say much.

It would be good for Boxing. Two of the very best, settling the heavyweight situation. They are professionals & they should fight as professionals & not personal. IMO Wladimir would crumble under Vitali's power in about three or four rounds. Have there been any matches in Boxing history, where good friends ended up going into the ring against eachother?

They would take it easy on each other if they ever fought; like an exhibition.

Come on, of course they WON'T fight. But let's say they are both exactly the same fighter as they are now, but one is called Wladimir Smith and the other one Vitali Stevens, Vitali would stop Wlad in about five.

Holmes vs Ali??? The expression on Holmes' face says it all about what can happen when one friend beats up another badly. Imagine if Vitali sparked Wlad out??? Wouldn't be nice.

I think Simon Brown once fought his life long friend in the ring. I forget who the opponet was, but both men had nice things to say about the other before and after the fight.
