For me it's clear that Don King and Team Sauerland are the ones playing the games in the Chagaev-Valuev saga. Ruslan Chagaev was ready, had a full training camp, made weight and got the necessary medical documents accepted by the WBA and the Austrian Boxing Federation, the one that regulates Sauerland cards. He was 100% ready. King and Sauerland decided to move the card to Finland, and in the end, the Finnish Boxing Federation pulled the plug, the fight would've taken place in Germany without problems. King and Sauerland HAD TO SEE THIS COMING.

What you gotta see, that King, who's promotional career was based on the heavyweight division, holds his very last HW card in Valuev, and he doesn't want to lose it to the man who once beat the giant. Since King was involved, Larry Donald, John Ruiz and Evander Holyfield were robbed from clear victories, that's how important Valuev is for him.

Even Wladimir Klitschko is on Ruslan's side in this mess:

"I think this is all about business. Don King owns a piece of Valuev and the next mandatory challenger would be John Ruiz, whom Don King has 100% of. That is very clear."

So f* them, Ruslan is the real champ anyway, he already beat Valuev and never lost the title in the ring. Let him fight Wladimir Klitschko in a WBA-IBF-WBO-IBO unification fight, Wladimir is ready, Chagaev is ready and Haye is out. Don King turned down multi-millions for a Valuev-Wladimir fight, so if he wants the giant so bad, let him have it, he can put him in his living room I don't care, meanwhile Chagaev and Wladimir should do what they know best: fight - and fight each other!

Well said, and you can make argument Chagaev when healthy might be the best heavyweight not named Klitschko. If the haye fight can't be rescheduled it'd likely be Ruslan.

Hey, what happens if Chagaev loses his version of the WBA belt?

The fight with Valuev was meant to clear up the mess, but if anything Chagaev has the stronger claim due to beating Valuev and being undefeated, right?

So if Wlad beat Chagaev...would that pull the WBA title belt carpet right from under Valuev's feet, and he'd have no official belt again?

This fight would go a long way to making up for the disappointment of Haye pulling out. Valuev is a fraud and i wouldn't wanna see him fight Wlad, Chagaev on the other hand is a great opponent to step in and save the show!

I honestly think Ruslan Chagaev would beat Haye anyway.

yea i read that too that klitcskho called valuev a disgrace and a german newspaper carried a poll in which 75% said valuev was a coward.

wlad said he would have fought chagaev, so why shouldnt he this week?

if chag fights wlad we can ignore valuev forever!

lets do it, no one cares about any other fights

well if wlad has had all his shots then why not! chagaev will probably pull out with something else by the 20th but maybe hell will freeze over and he'll make it into the ring

I was hoping haye was going to get hurt because the haye fight wasnt near as big as it could be..

if wlad can beat chagaev and haye could beat a real up and comer, like arreola or someone like that, then later this year the wlad-haye fight would be the biggest in boxing, which would be the best for wlad, haye and boxing fans...

if vitali fought like he did in his last fight against haye, then haye could beat vitali, then the wlad-haye fight would be HUGE, and of course, i still think wlad would blast haye out...
