Even if they did train to fight different fighters they still have better than 2 weeks to change up their training.

Haye is a glass jawed joke that was knocked out by Thompson and almost knocked out by light hitting Mock and Mormeck. And he is compeletly unproven at Heavyweight.

Chagaev should be regarded as a better Heavyweight. This works out better for Wlad anyway that he can add another belt.

Any top level HW is gonna knock that china chinned bullshitter out. He's had two - count 'em, TWO - fights at HW. One against a tomato can, and the other against a washed up fringe contender. Top HWs will destroy him, which is probably the real reason he backed out of the Wlad fight.

Exactly. The Haye fight was supposed to be a "big fight," why not replace it with another big fight??

yep, I agree, Wlad vs Chagaev is the right fight to correct this mess and there is probably a good chance it may happen if Wlad is willing to do a 50/50 split of the purse.

Good Post, King has been doing the same thing for years....he has been controlling the boxing orgs and ratings since back in the Larry Holmes era ( and was caught with the Ring Magazine scandel ) Ruslin or Valuev would be logical, Ruslin is the better fighter IMO and that would settle things for a while

And now Don King can have Ruiz-Valuev 3 and have the fans drooling over that fight.

Chagaev-wlad would be to perfect, both are in shape and healthy at the same time and looking for a fight. That being said they won't fight.

This fight could happen on the original date for Klitschko-Haye, June 20! From Setanta website:

Wlad to decide on Chagaev or Haye

David Haye will be ready to fight Wladimir Klitschko on July 11, though Ruslan Chagaev could meet the Ukrainian instead on June 20.

Both Haye's manager Adam Booth and Klitschko's equivalent Bernd Bonte spoke to Steve Bunce's Boxing Hour about Haye's pull-out from their scheduled bout due to a back injury.

Booth insisted Haye will be ready to take the ring three weeks later than the scheduled date, but Bonte says Klitschko, at present, would rather meet Chagaev - though the terms of this fight still need to be negotiated.

"It is still a possibility but our first priority is Chagaev, but that fight is not a done deal," Bonte told Setanta Sports News.

"The important question is are RTL happy to go on July 11? Are HBO ready to go three weeks later?

"The stadium will be okay for July 11. Chagaev would be a big fight. It would be for The Ring belt. I have got confirmation from The Ring [magazine]."

Bonte says K2 Promotions have been inundated with offers from fighters to fulfill the June 20 date, but said they are only interested in meeting Chagaev or Haye.

"We have 10 different fighters looking to fight," Bonte added. "Kevin Johnson, Brian Minto, Michael Grant. But at the moment we are only interested in Chagaev or Haye on June 20 or three weeks later.

"I hope we will know what we are doing in the next three days."

So what is your point? Are you alleging that Don King has manipulated the Finnish Boxing Association and/or fabricated the medical tests?
