Great game in the end....I thought the Toads were going to stomp us..well they did in the end anyway but it was a good finish.

That first no try decision was ****ed but Id would have been spewing if it was the other way around and QLD had a try like that allowed..so maybe it was fair.

Lewis is on old legs..replace him.

Get rid of the # 6 and # 7 for the blues....the kicking game was very bad and many passes went wrong....better 6 & 7 would have sent players over for tries....better kicks better position.

Put Soward in as 5/8...hes the best kicker in the NRL in attack and defence.....dont know about the # 7 :huh

The game could have been closer that the scores showed.

All in all it was a great game.....lots of fun...beers, BBQ and a few mates.

Had to LOL as Flamango called during the game who lives in MELB and had no idea about the game .....Dont mean to cut you short and I will call you Thursday mate :good

I thought NSW played ok, but at times made Qld look better than they actually were.
Can't disagree on Soward either. I saw him play in a Grand Final (may have been Flegg) back in about 2002. Kicked a field goal in extra time and I swear it was the best finish to a game I have ever seen.

Dont listen to me as I am a dragons supporter.......However Soward is scoring tries, setting them up, getting man of the match, kicking goals, has the best kicking stats in the NRL and his team is on top of the NRL.

The 6 and 7 had bad games for the blues.....lost loads of meters due to bad kicks and crap attacking kicks as well.

Watch Soward rip the titans a new butt on Monday night and hes in the side for # 2 :deal

Soward is a awesome player but you guys could have 20 on the park and we'll still win this series and probably the next 3.

    Up the Mighty Maroons :happy:happy

Yep Game 1 in the bag just 2 more to go.

The funny thing was if the blues hadnt have got lucky with a bounce's QLD might have crushed them.

2 of NSW's tries were of lucky deflections.

The first try that was not given was either way but that foward pass by Hayne made up for it that was a BS try.

If the Maroons play 80 minutes of football with NSW not getting any luck they might run up a score of 50-4. It could happen.

Qld sort of got the luck of bounce with that Thurston, was brilliant though...And from the sounds of it there was no reason for that first disallowed try to go to video ref because im sure the commentators said the touchy had no issue with it.

Was amongst the 51,000 and enjoyed it as a 'non-legit', but parochial Qld supporter.

Technology in sport is certainly creating as many questions as it is answering. The first NSW 'almost' try is a good case in point.

Everyone wants a game that flows and broadly follows the rules. The problem is, as we look deeper and deeper using technology, we keep finding reasons why tries, wickets, goals etc shouldn't count. These were never noticed nor worried about pre-technology.

It's going to be a tough balancing act in many sports getting the right amount of technology against the right amount of 'game flow' and overall entertainment.

Yep, great game, NSW were lucky to only be beaten by 10 in the end as QLD were all over them. Good comeback in the second half, QLD looked old when Wing came on and NSW started darting from dummy half, making lots of ground.

That said, Hayne's first try should have been given based on the pure balls in trying to do what he did! He and Creagh were NSW's best IMO. Shame Gidley had those 2 mistakes towards the end, he had a good game too I thought.

What about Inglis' second try? McManus ****ed up there, he should have stayed on Inglis instead of drifting in - Gidley and another blue were already inside blocking the inside runners. I reckon if McManus had stayed on him Inglis would have tried a chip kick or offload under pressure - anything would have been better than just letting him stroll over the tryline like he did.

I wasn't impressed with Wallace but I thought Campese played well.

It was certainly a case of 'where's Wally'.

My mate, who actually understands the game and barracks for NSW, kept asking where Wallace was all through the match.

Soward should not play for NSW. I would rather not risk injury for St George.

They are like handicap burglers right now...they have a fair bit of rep worthy talent in their ranks but none are getting called up.

Its unfair to the **** teams in the NRL...and the good teams that are missing all their name players.
