This is pure BS and you SHOULD know it. No way ANYONE should go into a fight if they don't feel they have the proper time to prepare.
Arreola seems like a nice guy, but you know what, he's never in shape anyway. I really don't see much difference if he has 3 months notice, or 17 days. If he's been offered the fight, he should take it.
Arreola should have been the fight Haye took instead of Wlad Let's see Arreola take on Wlad, he stopped McCline quicker than Wlad ever did, so he might have a chance at doing this, though I doubt it
Even if I were to buy this argument, and I don't, there is more to fight prep that the physical conditioning. You have to watch the tapes and come up with fight plans and work on them. And just because he is never in GREAT shape doesn't mean he isn't better shape on fight night than a week AFTER fight night.
Arreola was rocked bad early by both Walker and Mccline. Klitschko will kill him. His promoter is a smart man and knows this. Arreola has no defense, he will get hurt. Arreolas best win was a against Mccline. Mccline took the fight on short notice out of ****ing retirement. Mccline was as fat as Arreola who was in training the entire time.
This is true and Arreola said he was now always staying in the gym. This is his big shot against a vulnerable champion.
MInto, SOlis and Johnson are the only ones to *come forward*. What a stellar lineup that is to pick from, no?............ No, given that its two and a half weeks away, Wlad doing the right thing by naming who he wants, seeing as how no big names are coming forward. He's got 60,000 people already paid to see this, so he can't sit by and *hope* a good opponent comes forward.
And no WELL MANAGED big name will come forward on short notice. It isn't their job to hang around and stay prepared hoping. Too long a training camp can be detrimental. You start to tear yourself down.
When you are offered a career high payday and a shot at 2 of the 4 belts and if you win you will likely have another shot at his brothers belt and another big payday you don't turn it down. Do you think Larry Holmes, Joe Frazier, George Foreman, Rocky Marciano, Jack Dempsey, Joe Louis etc would turn down a shot like this? Hell no. Now tell me why Arreola (or anyone for that matter) should turn this down? **** man they have a built in excuse if they lose. This type of thing is why Boxing and the Heavyweight Divison in partiucular are in such a damn mess.
why aren's any HWTS stepping up? wher eis that big mouth Toney hiding? Ruiz wants a title shot. isn't there any American or any HWTS out there who want to check that chin of Klitschko? who want to test the heart, test the balls, test the toughness of Klitschko? No?
If Wlad - Haye can't happen then Wlad - Arreola is the fight I'd like to see. Don't know if it could happen though, Arreola's fatass doesn't exactly keep himself in shape in between fights. So he might reject a short notice fight at the champ for that very reason. What a shame... these are the kinds of consequences that happen when you don't keep your big ass in shape.
If you don't know by now, I sure the hell won't be able to get it across to you. Either you are ready or you aren't. This ain't tiddly winks. You don't go into the ring under prepared. It is physically dangerous and HBO will drop you like a hot potato if you lose and your career suffers.
