Not really, PBF being weight drained would probably be more of an issue. True that Floyd will always be criticized even if he wins over Mosley and Cotto (which i truly think he can) But when will that ever be a valid reason for not actually fighting them? And Floyd has every right to pick the fight with JMM. Just don't expect people to respect that move. He's taller, has a longer reach , faster and weighs 9 pounds more and is just as or probably even more skilled than JMM. At least Pac only had a speed and weight advantage but JMM definitely had advantages in ring smarts and skills. And even then the fight was extremely close. At least with Pac, people know that he carries the weight well. Not even JMM at this point knows how well he will perform at the weight This is JMMs first excurision above 140, and against the former P4P king! In what world is that fair?
I have no problems with either match. It's just the standards set by people saying JMM to small for Floyd but Pac for Mosley is not :nut JMM already weighs 141-144 on fight night he could add a couple lbs. It's not like Floyd is going to drastically out weigh him. Also one more thing. Is Floyd went to 135 and fought JMM people would still complain.
True but this is too assume he can make 135 fine. :good It's not a valid reason, it's showing that people will never be happy. Although I think the only way Floyd would get credit is if he were to have fought Mosley after his 18 months off. But it didn't happen. But think of this, if Mosley was coming off an 18 month layoff and Floyd decided to fight him. Floyd would be **** on everyday for fighting Shane. Yes but size differences are part of boxing. It's not like this has not happened before. Yes but JMM countered a lot against Pac and Floyd is a counter puncher and look at the way JMM made Manny look, Floyd would do worse but people want him to fight Pac. Mind you, Im completely fine with both JMM-Floyd and Pac-Mosley its the double standard which I think is stupid. Like I said, this is a warm up fight. It's a slight challenge because of the time off Floyd has had, if Floyd did not take time off I would be against this fight.
IF Pac and Floyd both win and meet up next, Floyd should get no more than 30% share of their total pot.
Well, refreshing to see a floyd fan not buy into the whole "he has 5 losses, i don't need to fight him" bit. Floyd would be **** on regardless of what he does He will always have haters. But if he did that against shane I don't think he would get as much **** as he's getting now for picking JMM. True, but to make a tune-up fight out of a great fighter because of the size advantage just strikes me the wrong way. The only consolation here is that JMM finally gets a big payday. Shane definitely has a bigger size advantage over Pac than PBF has over JMM. The difference is Pac is a big enough draw to decide on a weight that could significantly lessen the advantage whereas JMM doesn't. And that just sucks for JMM. I pretty much agree, the only difference being I'm not a floyd fan.
I have a feeling this fight not push thru and is just a bargaining tool for Pac's team towards fighting PBF. This fight just does not make sense to me.
i gotta give Pac respect for this. I kind of wish it would have been for Shane's title since that would have greatly improved Pac's legacy but the advantage would be way too much.
I would have liked to have seen Pac Vs. Cotto or Void, at least Mosely has the balls to fight Pac, and at a lower weight. Void is a disgrace to boxing.
You should be proud of your boy. He's a fighter's fighter, always willing and ready to prove himself. I favor him in this fight.
