If Arreola, Valuev or Toney do not step in, then Kingpin Johnson. At least he is coming out of an impressive fight.

:lol:Yeah. Minto wins by KO 12. After he gets put down 6 times over 11 rounds.

A high profile opponent is needed. We're talking 60+ thousend sold tickets here. No one in Europe knows who the **** King Pinguin is...

I think that could be a pretty good fight as long as Johnson has been training.

I haven't heard a word from the quiet man about stepping in on short notice to fight Wlad. Solis wants a fight. That one could be interesting. That could turn out a lot like Johnson-Vargas.-

Ruiz is a high profile opponent. He might save the event but Don King has other plans for him - Valuev v Ruiz III.

How the hell Ruiz is high profile opponent in Europe, he has lost every one of his fight in Europe. Plus If Toney, Jones, Valuev and chagaev beat him I’m sure Wladimir would.

He doesn’t deserve this title shot.

Toney however is future hall of famer, ATG and deserves last shot for a title.

Let's hope not. That fight would be a joke.

At least Ruiz is a well known name in Europe thanks to those fights.

But no, Jawnny will keep real quite right now. He's still hoping he'd get a belt if he beats Valuev. Fighting Klitschko now and losing to him means it's goodnight nurse, out of contention, out of boxing, off the radar, finished, done, cooked, etc.

That’s where you are wrong. When Ruiz loses it will take about half year to year before he gets another title shot.
He has been defeated countless times but he keeps getting back.

Toney is bigger name in boxing than Ruiz, even in Europe.

You want Ruiz to step in instead? :D

Toney-Wlad would be a good last minute replacement. KJ too.

He'll probably wait until after the fight is announced to loudly complain that he was ready to go but they refused to take his calls or something...

Toney has never been stopped or been close to being stopped in 80 pro fights, many of those against big punchers. Power is the last thing to bother James Toney with, he's proven that time and time again. Toney is a defensive master and he has one of the best chins in the game. Since Toney is faded, maybe Wlad could be the first man to stop him, but it would certainly not be easy...

and who the hell wants to see Valuev in the ring?

    I agree.

I wouldn't mind this fight. I think styleistically, Toney has a shot. I can almost see a Pavlik/Hopkins situation all over.
