this is unclear. i reckon the fact the ring belt is on the line makes its quite moot imo. Wlad is willing to get his shots to make it happen but it's far from 'done and dusted'
why not? when they have seven months to promote a big fight, it ends up cancelled anyways. They have a huge venue and tv date ready. i say if both fighters are game, do it...hopefully chagaev realizes this his last chance at world wide credability

Well, both Klitschko-Haye and Chagaev-Valuev had their promotion, everybody in Europe knows Wlad and Ruslan were to fight in June, so a unification fight could be a very smart move. They can still fill the stadium, German TV will still do about 10.000.000 viewers, Setanta will still broadcast, maybe (but it's irrelevant) HBO will accept it too. So why not? But since Vitali Klitschko is the legit HW champ or it's a tie between him and little Wlad, it's utter stupidity to give The Ring belt to the winner. The policy is clear: No 1 vs. No 2, and they are the Klitschko brothers.
yes but they make exceptions for #1 vs #3 like they did with vitali and sanders. Personally, i think wlad and vitali are head and shoulders above the rest and it's not clear who's better. so yeah it's a little unfair to vitali but wlad is gonna be around a lot longer so i don't see the harm in it.
:good It's an excellent fight, too. I'm probably one of the few on this board who genuinely believe Chagaev is the hardest fight out there for both Vitali and Wlad. He is an exceptionally talented southpaw HW. His performance against Valuev really was masterful.
