I'm sorry, but has anyone seen Chagaev fight lately? The guy just doesn't have it anymore. If this was to go down 2 years ago, after he beat Valuev in April of 07, I would be as happy as can be. Chagaev just barely beat the likes of Ruiz, Valuev, and Virchis, which were all either a MD or a SD, how do you expect him to beat the likes of Wlad when he's not even close to as good as when he fought those guys?

Just a thought. Haye could fight Ruiz and if he won he'd take Ruiz's mandatory. He could get himself the WBA belt (or half of it anyway) then go after Wlad with unification on the line.

Chagaev has a better shot at beating Wlad than Haye. Chagaev actually has a decent Chin, a Southpaw stance that we all know Klitschko has issues with, decent handspeed and pretty good footwork for a Heavyweight. He is in shape and ready to go. If he pressures Wlad from the beginning who knows what will happen? The problem is people have quit trying to pressure Wlad out of fear of getting whacked coming in.

With The Ring Magazine Belt on the line this is a no brainer. Haye does not bring anything to the table but a big mouth.

You make good points, but fact still remains, Chagaev is not the fighter he once was, and that version had trouble beating the oppenents I mentioned in my last post.

As far as Wlad having trouble with southpaws, that may be true. Whats also true is, Wlad tends to fight more tenative against them as well. I mean who wants to see another Thompson/Wlad? Or worse, another Igggy/Wlad? I know I dont, so if he just waits 3 weeks, we can have an exciting fight everyones looking forward to.

At this point Wlad-Chagaev is a MUCH more meaningful fight than Wlad vs. Herbie Haye.

Haye wasted his window of opportunity royally. Now he should try to actually earn his shot for a change. I know that's not how he rolls, but that's how it should be.

It makes a lot more sence legacy wise to fight Chagaev on the 20th.
All the fuss around Haye will settle down eventually and in a couple year's time few will remember this circus act. People will come on boxrec to check out Wlad's record and what they will see (if Wlad beats Chag) is an undisputed champ at heavyweight and The Ring champion of the world.

Anyone who does'nt want to wait 3 weeks to see Haye vs Wlad is ******ed.

I coud'nt give a **** about Chagaev and the Ring title.

Chagaev would turn up and box like a typical garbage Wlad oppponent.

    You're all ****ing mad. :patsch

Who says Haye will be any better? At least Chagaev has a Chin something Haye does not have at all. I don't care who he fights I want to be sitting on my couch watching HBO Boxing on June 20th at 4:45 PM. I want to see a fight. Screw that Glass Jawed joke David Haye.

Didn't Chagaev just have to pull out of a fight because he has hepatitis??

    That's exactly what it is.

They're over the moon that Haye is out because he's dangerous, and Chagaev is just another generic Wlad opponent who will box with no self belief at all.

    Pathetic. :-(
