Based on what? Ruslan has not beat anyone worth a ****. To be honest he sucks. He lacks power, head movement, and he cuts as easy as Ricky Hatton. Johnson would beat the **** out of Chaqaev and you know it.

Yeah Haye does have a glass jaw. But so does wlad klitschko. Haye has a hell of a lot more speed and power than cheese skin Chagaev. Thats why your pushing for the Chagaev fight because your scared Haye might land on wlads eggshell chin. And yes Haye has been knocked out. But does Brewter,Sanders,Peter, purity,TOS or Steve Pannell ring any bells. Wlads been on his ass way more than Haye. And almost allo the people that put wlad on his ass is 100% tomato cans. I never from the moment I seen Steve Pannell put wlad on his ass he didn't have the chin for boxing and I still think thats true now.

Chagaev is a more experienced and more dangerous fighter than Haye. I'm confident that Chagaev would beat Haye if they fought. Chagaev is far more durable than Haye, and his his power is just sufficiently strong to stop Haye with any single, clean punch. Add to this Chagaev's difficult southpaw style and ring intelligence, and it's hard to see Haye winning.

Nothing personal, Derrick, but I don't get the impression you have been following boxing for too long.

As for Haye, he's very impressive...he's definitely a fascinating prospect at heavyweight. But Haye needs to prove himself against better heavyweights before we can realistically say that he'd outclass guys like Chagaev, or stand a chance against the Klitschkos.

at the moment we are exploring either Chagaev or Haye - on June 20th or three weeks later."

Bonte added that he hopes to have a final decision he can make public in two or three days.
The original stadium in Germany will be okay for the July date, but as far as the TV companies go, there is much doubt.

So this is where we stand now: either the fight will go ahead on July 11th, or Ruslan Chagaev (or possibly another replacement foe) will step in.

"Chagaev would be a big fight," Bonte said. "It would be for The Ring belt. I have got confirmation from The Ring [magazine]."

It does sound encouraging thus far. I am amazed Chag is even entertaining the idea. Maybe he's not the *$@#(@# we all thought! LOL

I hope this fight gets made, cause I think it'd be great for the division. One more title out of the way, as well as being a big money fight in its own right.

it makes too much sense so it wont happen....
Chagaev and Valeuv are in fighting shape right now.....so obviously either of these would be great. arreola is fat and already turned it down....he prob wont fight kevin johnson since hes unproven. Ruiz is out there... ....but we will end up seeing him fight a guys like eddie chambers or Oleg Mascaev

I'm not convinced that Haye has much more power than Chagaev. Remember, Haye has shown his power at heavyweight only once, and that was against a very shopworn Monte Barrett.

As for Chagaev, he's probably more dangerous for Vlad than Haye. This is because Chagaev is a strong, durable physical type who can absorb a beating while taking the fight into the later rounds. One of Vlad's biggest weakenesses is stamina, so there's the chance that Chagaev could beat Vlad the way that Purrity and Brewster did: by wearing him down.

Interesting also is that physically, Chagaev is built very much like Brewster.

It's incredible that Vlad is eager to fight a dangerous guy like Chagaev on such short notice. It just goes to show what kind of confidence Klitschko has. I'm impressed.

I don't think Arreola will risk a fight with Kevin Johnson at this point. Arreola has a title fight nearly sewn up; look for him to cash out with a big money maker against Vlad by early 2010.

As for Ruiz, he is Don King's fighter. Therefore, anything is possible for Ruiz as long as King has his way with the alphabet organizations -- and King usually does. I wouldn't be surprised to see Ruiz in another title fight, possibly even a third match with Valuev.

Chagaev is no better than Ibragimov. No one wats to see that **** again. I want to see Wlad get hit on his glass jaw and put on his ass.

Wlad vs Chag would be better than Haye Wlad, if you look at the long term benefit it would bring to the whole *The division has no single MAN* mess that we've been dealing with since Lewis retired.

Chag is the best possible option..........even better than waiting on Haye, if you ask me. Not to mention that the staduim is sold out and those folks don't want to cancel their plans.......Chag, being a titleholder is also a great opponent, in his own right, as well. I am sure those people would be content to see Chag in there on JUne 20th.

Isn't Chagaev's title only the "Champion in Recess"?

Shouldn't it be Valuev since he is the full champion at the moment?

Valuev has already refused, and Chag is the man in the WBA as far as I'm concerned, anyway. NEver been beaten, and has a win over Valuev.

Wlad chag is THE fight to be made.

Ibragimov is also an excellent fighter. Sultan has dangerous power, lightning quick hands, good boxing skills, and a formidable infighter.

I was disappointed when the talk about Haye vs. Sultan faded last year. I think Sultan would have been too much for Haye, and if I were proven wrong, I immediatey would have given Haye full respect for beating a live opponent.
