I have no beef with Craig Christian and think he's a good trainer (discounting the personal antics hes had).

But I also think thats hes in posession of a fighter who just has soooooo much raw talent - Cool Willie.

Do you guys think (a la Khan) that Willlie would benefit from stepping up with a world class trainer such as Roach and if so could he become something great?

from his last fight that i saw, i think some of the gloss has worn off, he tried to keep a high guard but his elbows are out exposing himself, hes just an instinctive type of fighter, i think the best thing to do with him, is keep bringing him along slower, hes to young, one thing about craig chrisitian he does get some of the better sparring around the country, and doesnt kicket often box with chris john? id reckon hes perfect to learn of, high volume workrate, world class fighter, but with less power then some of the top guys exactly what he needs at the moment...
will someone like roach have the time to invest it in kicket is the problem?

agreed craig does have access to good spar partners. Whether or not Roach has time is not the question, but more whether Roach would spot the talent and try to make something of it, and also a question of whether Willie would benefit from such tutelage.

Like you ive noticed things in Willies last few fights and one of those things is that he isnt bringing anything new in his arsenal at all, meaning he's not really improving at a rate which I would expect from someone of his age and talent. And that is where the trainer comes into question...

It goes without saying Kickett would improve a great deal with a better standard of coaching but whenever i suggest a Young Aussie fighter leave your shores and learn their trade overseas i get hammered for it by guys who say " Ah well Kostya and Vic learned their trade in Aus etc " to me its obvious , IF Young Willie was here in the UK for instance he would get better sparring for a start , this ain't just me trying to big up the Brit scene either if he was here he would be more active and wouldn't be geting KTFO by the likes of that Elmor fella who he lost to back last year , when your here the harder fights come around a lot more rapidly than they do down under its just the standard here in the UK and Europe is a lot higher due to the shear volume of blokes fighting in your chosen division .

I think that yes, Its common sense that for Willie to move to EU or USA would be a great move for his career in so many ways.
But in reality I think that getting Willie to even move to sydney would be a challenge, let alone overseas. If he could have some dominant wins over good opposition here, a foreign promoter could possibly offer him some decent purses so that he could have overseas training stints before US fights

Willie doesn't have the punching power at an elite level, i reckon that KO has done more damage than we think based on is last fight. He still has youth on his side but sonething needs to change, whetherr that's a new trainer, going o/s or maybe having a little break.

Craig's a pretty switched on bloke who is keen to learn as much as he can to help his fighters. Something many people may not know.

I think people here underestimate how far the pecking order someone like Willie would be with someone like Roach. There's only so many hours in the day. Kickett isn't a cash cow for Freddie, so he's not going to spend time with him. Who's to say Craig isn't a world class trainer? He's taken Chris John a long way.

Hello Gentlemen here are my thoughts on this subject. Of coarse WK would benifit from FR guidance their is no dout about it I think FR is one of the best in the buisness. If WK wanted to go their or was invited I would be the first to encourage him to go.It would be my duty as his trainer manager and friend to do this.Their would be positives and negatives but I would be trying to smooth over all the negatives so that my mate coukd be the best he could.
Just a few things about Wk, since the ko he still isnt back to where he was yet , he has had some very bad luck but is heading in the right direction. He is boxing now just like he was in his first half dozen fights. give him another few fights and a rematch with Mr Elimar at the end of the year and next year he will be amazing us with his god given briliance again . WK will be fighting on the CJ undercard 27th june in LA . any way boys they are my thoughts dont be shy voice your opinion good or bad I love it . Late news flash Jackson Asiku v Robert the Gohst Guerrro friday week espn bye.
    Craig Christian
